~doctor's p.o.v.~
I finally felt the burning sensation rip its way up my arm as my fingers barely scraped against the cover of kaylee's book. I wasn't close enough.Talking to the TARDIS, trying to distract myself from the pure torture i was in, i asked, "why do you have this?!" My face became strained, as the pain crept up and into my spine, sending an agonizing message to all of the nerves throughout my body, "just a little..mooore. Gotcha!" I wrapped my pinkie finger around the binding and pulled, "oooooh, that's hot!!"I immediatley dropped it to the floor, just as the heart let me have it, and shook my hand furiously trying to make the heat go away.
"Doctor?" I heard a voice and someone clambering down the steps. She emerged from the shadows, and narrowed her eyes so she could see, "what's that light?"
I closed the curtain, "nothing, nothing just a ball of wibbly wobbly timey... stuff." Rushing the last bit, because i didn't want to sound stupid
Kaylee smiled, but shock soon took its place, "what happenned to your hand??" She rushed over, holding it delicately.
"Ah!" i hissed, the damage was immense... "i just burned it."
"In what? a timelord sized oven??"
"ahh," i sighed, "timelord sized oven... funny, but no. And anyways, i'm fine. I'll just..." i let my arm start to glow gold, and heal itself.
She kissed my wrist, "all better." And smiled, "you really shouldn't keep doing that, you know."
I smirked, "at least i'm not a cat, i've got about three more lives than them." I ended on a high note, pleased. I noticed that she was turning around. Oh no, "i'm sorry i can't fix that."
She bent down and seized her fried book off the floor and looked saddened, "it's okay, was a useless piece of junk anyways."
I heard birds chirping, and began to feel sleepy. We sank to the ground slowly. I felt like i was under quicksand, i let it engulf me, helpless.

I took in a deep breath, amd woke up... next to, "kaylee?"
She looked around, bleary-eyed, "where are we?"
"I thought you went to look for the doctor?"
She yawned, "Yeah, me too." Kaylee rubbed her eyes and stretched, then pushed the comforter to the side, "last thing i remember was a black book!"
"Is this weird to you? Do you feel something different? Like a pull..." i kissed her cheek, and went downstairs for coffee. She pulled her bathrobe off the hook begind the door, and ran down the carpeted stairs after me.
"Nope. This feels totally normal."
I handed her a mug of coffee, then searched the fridge for some milk. She began to bustle around the kitchen, toasting PopTarts and searching the cabinets for plates, "are you sure?" I slammed the fridge closed, "because i feel different."
"What do you mean, sweetie?" Kaylee bit into a toaster pastry and put the other on a plate for me.
"I don't know." I picked up the paper, "i just can't shake the feeling."
"Ooo! Gimme the comics!" I smiled from behind my cup and handed her the funnies. "Aw, listen to the birds say good morning!" We lsumped forward, falling asleep.

I woke up in the console room, holding jack's hand. The doctor wasn't very far away, but leaning against the railing, looking tired. Warren, on the other hand, was sitting like he was driving a car. "guys!" i released jack's hand, and standing up, "i just had the weirdest dream."
