"Good morning, Yoon Gi. I have your caffè americano. I know you like it hot when you have an early morning start," Jin said with a shy smile as he held the steaming tall cup to the other man.

"Thank you, Jin," Yoon Gi smiled back as he took the coffee. "Did you get something for yourself?"

"I did," Jin nodded towards the cup holders between the front seats where his iced chai latte sat.

"Good, good!" Yoon Gi pronounced before turning to the man who had followed him to the town car. "Jin, I'd like to introduce you to my cousin. This is Jung Kook. You met him the other night when I called for you. I'm sure Hobi would have mentioned it but he will be riding with us regularly starting today."

Jin hummed but said nothing. He turned to open the car door with the intention of ignoring Jung Kook but the man took him by surprise when he stepped in front of him and held his hand out in greeting with a cheeky grin.

"Hello Jin."

Jin eyed the hand in front of him as if it was a cobra poised to strike. When Jung Kook cleared his throat, Jin realised he hadn't returned his ex-boyfriend's salutation. He blushed when he noticed that Yoon Gi was frowning at him.

"Good morning, Mr Min," Jin said through gritted teeth, and released Jung Kook's hand quickly after the most perfunctory handshake. He refused to make eye contact and barely kept himself from wiping his palm off on his trousers.

Yoon Gi was taken aback, baffled, as he blinked at Jin. He was so sure that the man would recognise Jung Kook and acknowledge him accordingly. However, the odd and chilly exchange proved him wrong. He wondered why Jin was treating his cousin this way, but before he could voice his question, Jin was ushering them hurriedly into the car.

"We must leave now, Yoon Gi, if we are to make it to the hospital in time for your meeting. I heard on the news that there was a crash on the bridge near here."

"Of course, Jin. Let's go."

If Yoon Gi noticed that Jin slammed the door extra hard immediately after Jung Kook got in, he made no mention of it. In fact, the car ride was spent mostly in silence as both Jin and Jung Kook ignored each other diligently.

After lunch, Yoon Gi summoned his cousin to his office on the top floor. He had had a very busy morning, and was therefore not able to get to the bottom of the strange vibe between Jin and Jung Kook this morning. But now he had a one hour window before he had to go into surgery to observe his hospital's recent acquisition of a cutting edge laparoscopy tool in action.

As soon as Jung Kook shut the door behind him and went to stand next to his cousin, Yoon Gi began his interrogation without preamble, "Did something happen when Jin took you and Ji Min home? Why was Jin cold towards you this morning?"

"Cold? He wasn't cold," Jung Kook scoffed as he fought to keep a calm demeanour.

"Jung Kook, he was so cold that my coffee froze and the steam turned to ice," Yoon Gi retorted. "And why the hell did he call you Mr Min?"

"He probably doesn't remember me," Jung Kook shrugged.

"Don't lie, Jung Kook. I saw it in his reaction to you. He was angry with you. I could hear it in his voice when he greeted you. What did you do? Did you insult him that night?"

"Don't be ridiculous, hyung. Why would I insult him? He pretended not to know me so I treated him the same way. That's all there is to it."

"I don't believe you. Jin has been driving me for some time now, and I've learned to read his body language. What did you do?"
