Green sat on his bed, tuning his guitar and practicing his handle with the notes, Purple on the phone beside him. They were being unusually quiet but Green hadn't really noticed. Purple shifted uncomfortably,
"Green?"
"Hm?" He murmured, still strumming, but Purple remained silent. He glanced over and saw a worried expression on their face. He softened his gaze and put the guitar down
"Is something wrong?" Purple hesitated for a moment,
"Do you love me?" Green was dumbfounded,
"Wha- I love you Purple." They stared at each other for a couple seconds before Purple hugged Green tightly, squeaking out an
"I love you too". Green wrapped his arms around his lover and felt them sigh in relief. After a moment Green pulled away to look at Purple.
"Is something wrong?"
"No- I just.."
"Yes?"
"I'm scared, I don't want to lose you. I've lost so many people and I'm worried if I mess up I'll-"
"hey hey calm down, I'm not going anywhere<3"
"you promise?" Their eyes started watering. Green put his hand to their cheek,
"Yes I promise" This seemed to comfort them.
"In fact, you'll be stuck with me for so long you'll get sick of it."
"What?! Noo that's impossible" they said rolling their eyes.
"You don't believe me?" Green hugged Purple again and fell back onto his bed bringing them with him,
"AGh-"
"even if I never let go?"
"Green stop being an idiot!" They squealed embarrassingly.
"Nooo I'm making you feel better, stop squirming and let me cuddle you!"
Purple huffed before giving up and resting on Green. They weren't so used to physical affection yet, they didn't mind it, but it still felt a little weird. They snuggled closer to him, slowly relaxing and letting themself feel his sweet embrace. It was nice, more comforting than any pillow of blanket at least. They didn't want to ever let him go.
The two sticks layed together in silence for a long while, trading the occasional kiss. Eventually Green sat up,
"mm..." purple grumbled drowsily,
"Green.?"
"Hm? Go to sleep love I just need to turn the lights off." But purple was already fast asleep. Green tidied his room a bit before turning off the lights and slinking back to the bed. He kissed Purple's cheek one last time.
"I love you."
