During the ride, I mentioned to Chase that I had only $15, and though the drive was long into the city, he let me off; but I could tell through his kind ways that he was questioning regret.

I got out of the cab, my eyes set upward at the Californian sky; not a cloud to be seen with a perfect sunset. It was getting dark, so I hurried up to the apartment and up to Mark's door, feeling a rush of adrenaline and nerves run through me.

I knocked at a quick pace, fiddling with the straps of my bags and my appearance, without even thinking about doing it.

I don't know why, but when the door was open to be only loosely ajar, I was surprised, I felt a feeling I'd never felt before.

Then Mark peered around the door, his gaze shifting from my feet to my head. He opened his mouth to speak, peering at me through framed glasses when I lurched forward and clung to him, crying into his shoulder. He was knocked back inside of his home, as was I, and the door was still open.

I cried until there were no more tears and halfway through my shenanigan, the raven-haired man who was holding me in his arms started rubbing soothing circles on to the midst of my back. Sniffling, I sat back up, finding enough wits to close the door behind me and put my bag down.

In silence, I rubbed my tears from my puffy, red cheeks, then shyly glanced back up at Mark.

His expression was solemn, but within seconds, he gave out a soft smile and mumbled, "Welcome to my home, Jack."

I sniffled again, wiping my nose of the dreaded mucus and bouncing to my feet. A small smile was planted on my lips as I calmed down, and then I could almost hear the embarrassment spreading through me like fire.

"I-I'm so sorry for that greetin'," I said, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly.

"It's fine," Mark replied, smile remaining. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you on Skype."

"It's fine," I repeated his words, watching as his smile changed to one of amusement. "It sounded pretty crazy to begin with. I don't blame you,"

The more-muscled of us both straightened up a bit before his jaw dropped when his beautifully brown eyes caught sight of my bag.

"Is that all you brang, all the way to L.A!?"

"Yeah, I know. I wasn't thinkin' straight, I just needed to get out of Ireland." I chortled, still feeling that awkward tension.

"Well, I guess I should give you the tour. I'm currently watching Bill Nye the Science Guy on Netflix if you'd like to join me, it's new to the flix."

I chuckled and followed him along, still remembering some things from his house tour he did when he first moved in and uploaded to YouTube. It was amazing to see it all in real life, but my heart ached and I always felt this tense aura between Mark and I, but I just couldn't put a finger on exactly why I had these silly little notions.

Afterward, I ate a piece of pizza and started to chill with Mark on his couch, laughing every time he was his witty, kind, silly, goofy and commentarial self.

At one point though, my eyes drifted over to him, the TV reflection playing in his glasses while his eyes sparkled and shimmered in delight and glee; I could tell he was happy about having me here, and in my mindset, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I felt the corners of my mouth turn upwards, staring at him. Watching his lively self. His attractive facial features lighting up in delight and his focus only flickering back and forth from the tv and myself.

My cheeks started to warm up, so I grabbed out my phone from my hoodie pocket to distract myself, texting my girlfriend. I asked her where she was, if she was alright, all that stuff. She said she was okay, but scared and really wanted me to be there soon. My whole spirits sort of shifted after that.

I then continued to ask her what part of L.A. she was in, if she knew. To which, she replied with, 'Northern California'.

Not the greatest news ever, for somebody who would now be grounded in the hot-hole central of California until they were fully rested enough to fly once more.

A/N: 'Ayyy, another chapter! I'm very sorry for not updating it a while ago, when I said I would, but I had to stay at my dad's and that would just be a w k w a r d central because he likes to be curious of me when I write things on my computer (we're both computer geeks) ouo

Anyway, to make up for it, TWO, I repeat, TWO new chapters following! Maybe even more if I can be bothered. xD

Peace~!
