The following morning, Kalani gave Achilles a piece of paper to list any additional items we would require for the market or perhaps a trip to a store to buy clothes and shoes. I really wished that I didn't have to get ready to visit the doctor. It has something to do with my own health. Mr. Freeman's phone calls appeared on the home screen of my phone when I looked at it to see the time. Even after having assured him once that everything would be okay, it breaks my heart to ignore the calls. Always indicates he is extremely concerned for my well-being. I have some concerns that the police can easily track that phone on the other side.
Before they find out, I have to turn it off. There were honey oats in a bowl when Kalani summoned me into the kitchen for breakfast. I took up my spoon to devour some flakes. I wanted to call Mr. Freeman, so I checked my phone once again. I must be cool and unwavering. After I ran away, it seems like a week has passed, and I'm beginning to regret it. Running is a terrible idea. Counting the number of times I've lied to other adults at school, it's completely inappropriate."Are you anxious about today?" Kalani, who was sitting beside me, asked.
My head shook. "Not really, just that Mr. Freeman is protecting my safety."
"It's fantastic to see he's doing that; you should text him and let him know you're fine."
"I'm not sure that's a good idea." I felt terrible for refusing. "If it was something different or similar to other things, then absolutely."
What I'm saying is unclear to Kalani. I'm not going to blame her. "What else is there?"
"If I was harmed by someone or kidnapped,"
On the torn sheet of paper, Achilles puts down his pen. "I can see your need to avoid being found, but you can contact him occasionally to let him know."
"As far as I'm concerned, the police might be nearby and observe him calling me."
"Don't think poorly."
"I'll give it a shot."
"How about we try to get you to the doctor right now so we don't miss our appointment?" Kalani helps me put on my jacket.
