Back At The Condo:
Kalani awoke to the sound of her grandfather reading the letter I left when I made the decision to leave. When she stands up to go see where Achilles is, she discovers him still reading the letter in front of the bed. It was devastating to hear him.
She puts her hand on Achilles' shoulder as he turns around. "Granddad?"
"She's gone." He refolded the letter while sounding glum. Elora left.
"Can I see that?"
Achilles gave his granddaughter the letter, and she read it on her own. She opened the paper while seated on my bed. The last paragraph finally came to an end after twenty minutes. She burst into tears. When Achilles enters the room again, he gives her a hug.
"There must have been something she was viewing."
Kalani dries her tears and turns to face him. What could she have seen to make her want to wander out alone again?
Achilles could only speculate as to why I made the decision to leave; he couldn't guess the question.
"If I remember correctly, Elora claims to have visions while sleeping. This reveals that she witnessed something shocking."
"Perhaps it could involve the police that she mentioned last night?"
"Yeah." Achilles nodded agreeably, based on his granddaughter's guess. "She spoke with her family yesterday while on the phone, so it's not just the police that worry her. She seemed to be trying to keep her location a secret."
"So what does this mean?"
Achilles sighs. "We need to contact the family."
They don't know the number, so there was no way they couldn't get in touch with my family in Michigan. Kalani searches the drawers for any hints I may have left that might help her detect a number. Achilles looked in the living room and kitchen but found nothing. They weren't moving quickly; they'll keep looking around the entire condo until they come across something.
