"Were you raped in your previous homes Kyle", the officer asked not beating around the bush.

"No just... No I wasn't"

"Are you lying to me Kyle", the officer continues to remove the restraint off his shoulders seeing bruises and cut marks all over his bare back through the torn shirt.

A skeletal-like structure could be seen from a great distance and the officer ran to grab the first aid.

"Let's go get you cleaned up kid", he held out his hand to Kyle that was covered in bandages not leaving a single trace of his skin to be shown.

Kyle's dark hair matted and tingled.

"Why are your hands covered", the officer asked as they entered the bathroom.

"A..a condition", Kyle hesitated.

"Do you want me to help you clean yourself or would you like to do it alone-"

"Alone please, so could you leave", Kyle's snarky reply made the officer tense a bit but just breathed and nodded walking out.

Kyle took off the bandages from his hands looking at the cuts that still have yet to heal and the abuse that happened before officer Parker came to got him.

Turned on the bath to the hottest it could be and sunk himself in the water. He closed his eyes for the first time that morning finally able to release the tension from his fake fasad.

Soon after Kyle could hear the bathroom door open and close again like nothing just happened.

But in that shirt instance he could smell the freshly cooked breakfast that awaited him in the dining hall.

Quickly he cleaned himself, able to finally get his hair to the way he wanted. He glanced over to the clothes that were placed on the sink countertop. Underwear, black jeans and a t-shirt that matched the pants.

He found a second first aid kit in the cabinet and wrapped his hands again. He did a sloppy job given that his wounds opened up again.

He treaded lightly to the smell that made his stomach growl even more as Kyle got closer. He rounded a corner crashing into an older guy who spilled a cup of milk on himself.

"What the fuck!! Who's kid is this!?" Tyler yelled gripping Kyle's shirt about to pound his face in.

"Tyler let him go, that's the new kid Dad is fostering", a girl spoke behind him sitting at the table.

"Sorry kid, Tyler can be a bit of an asshole", he said chuckling.

"Now now you both know your not supposed to fight inside", The officer said coming to Kyle who flinched back a bit.

"Whoa, dad what did you do to him? He's already scared of you", Tyler said looking between me and him.

"I didn't do anything, but Kyle, do you care to join us as we wait for the others to come from their death beds.", He said smiling to Kyle.

"Sure", Kyle responded sitting at the table.

Left in a daze Kyle sits quietly and eats. Until Tyler broke the silence.

"How old are you Kyle?"

"Why is that any of your business?" Kyle shot back.

"Don't be such a dick about it-"

"How does it benefit you with me telling you that information!!" Kyle yelled back.

"So I know how I should treat you, you little prick!!"

"With some god damn respect", Kyle ushered in a low bearing tone continuing his meal.

Before Tyler could get up the girl next to him holds his arm and 3 others walk in the dining hall.

"Where's all the fire coming from", a man spoke looking at Kyle with an angry look plastered on his face and Tyler's fist clench.

The officer comes to Kyle's side making Kyle look him in the eye.

Kyle's tension relaxes as he stares at the man in front of him. Their faces not to far apart from it Turing into an awkward scene.

"You don't talk to your family that way got it. I understand you being on edge about a new environment and everyone suddenly asking you personal questions that you do have the right to refuse to answer. But it'll only make them ask for more".

He stopped then looked to Tyler who also had called down a bit.

Kyle sighed a bit. Then nodded looking at Tyler in defeat.

"16, I'm 16 years old", Kyle said softly.

Tyler amused that the officer was able to tame the fiesty kid. Who reminded him of a feral cat off the streets.

But to Kyle, it didn't make him feel better. In fact it only made him vulnerable. And scared of the man in front of him. Yet he wanted to test his limits to how far he could push this officer to escape the weird feeling he gets.
