CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Rina's POV

I woke up 5 and I went to make breakfast, I decided to make pancakes and orange juice, I made like twenty or more. I woke Eva up and we talked and eat, the clothes arrived and I gave them to Eva, she didn't want to accept it at first but she later caved in.

We both went to our different rooms to get ready when I was done I checked my phone and I saw over 70 missed calls and messages from Mr and Mrs Evan and James. I quickly called Mrs Evan and on the first ring she picked, she scolded for not picking up my phone and told me that they were all worried, I talked to all of them and I received an ear full from them and later told them I'll be coming later in the afternoon.

Eva said she was sleeping in today to catch up on the sleep she missed, I placed a sound system in her room that played calming music and white noise which will help her to sleep without having nightmares I also left the AC unit on and put extra blankets for her to create a cool atmosphere.

When I arrived they hugged me and told me never to do that again. I apologized again, Mr and Mrs Evans walked forward while Jane's and I walked behind. Seriously don't do that again; James said, yes sir; I said with a salute, he rolled his eyes and playful shoved my injured shoulder I wince and Yelp in pain which caught all their attention.

What's wrong with your shoulder; Mrs Evan asked, nothing; I said. You are really bad at lying you know; James said, no I'm not; I defended myself. Before I knew what was going on they all surrounded me and James round my sleeves all the way up showing the bullet wound and the scratches.

Mrs Evan started crying while Mr Evan consoled her but his eye were darkened and so was James own. Who did this tell me; James said angrily I know it wasn't directed to me but I flinched either way, I've never seen him this way his hazel brown eyes darkened to black and there was so much blood lust in it.

I don't know just one random dude that was angry because I saved a girl from him; I said, can't you once ever think about yourself, be selfish for God sake you don't have to help everyone especially if it gets you in trouble or in danger; he practically shouted at me.

I didn't know what to say, he's just being plain overprotective, all the shouting plus the lack of sleep is making light headed, I walk upstairs ignoring everyone, all the voices where drowning down. Black dots covered my vision I lost my balance and fell but James who hurriedly ran and caught me with that darkness over took me.

The Evans POV

James rushed her to her room and, while Mrs Evans called the doctor while Mr Evan was shouting orders for some to find out what happened to  Rina.

They were only able to uncover a little  footage of what happened, all the saw was a boy pointing a gun at her as she was distracted on her phone, when he shot the gun the footage went blank and the little footage they got deleted by accident. Now they knew who to torture.

They tried looking for more footage and saw the one person they didn't expect to see, the girl Rina saved was their daughter and James sister that left them 2 years ago for her boyfriend (a/n : or so they think 🤔).

They were able to get the footage of Rina meeting her and pretending to know her and the when he shot her the first time and that was all. The guy is a dead man for not only taking away their daughter but also for hurting Rina who they consider to be one.

Third person's POV

James soon left to check on Rina, he smiled seeing her sleeping peacefully but soon frowned when he saw her bandages. He sat on the bed next to her, he was sad he couldn't protect her, he played with her hair which he was really fond of doing and found out it calms her.

He was about to leave when he realized she was having one of her nightmares kicking and swinging her legs and arms. Immediately he saw her crying and struggling to breathe he knew it was one of the worst ones.

He tried to get to calm her down but she didn't want him touching her flinching at every touch or trying to shove his hand away while shouting, this got the parents attention and they can up stairs. Mr Evans didn't really know what to do and wanted to wake her up but Mrs Evans stopped her knowing it would make the condition worse.

When she calmed down a little James quickly hugged her trying to calm her more but she shouted and cried even louder till she started to calm after he hugged her tighter and whispered sweet nonesense to her. After she had calmed down James tried to stand up to tuck her in but she didn't want to let him go and stirred more in her sleep almost like she was about to wake up.

Mrs Evans then hit her son for almost waking her up and just stay by her side so that Rina wouldn't wake up  she also didn't want her to leave Rina as she's still shaken by what she saw on the footage. She tucked them into bed kissed the crown of Rina's head and did the same for James his face redden in embarrassment, she laughed at he's reaction, he'll also be her baby boy no matter how old he gets.

Mr and Mrs Evans decided she needs to go to a therapist and Mrs Evans volunteered to be the one she goes to since it would be easier to talk to her than one random stranger. Mrs Evans studied about everything that has too do with the mind that's why she's one of the best therapist and also the one they call anytime they can't get any Intel from a prisoner.

Mr and Mrs Evans came to check on Rina and James and their heart warmth as they saw them cuddling together. Mrs Evans couldn't resist snapping them but this time set them as the wall paper to her phone's home screen. They both went to their room and slept.
