★Boruto's POV★

I woke up slowly, my body heavy and sore. The cold metal cuffs bit into my wrists, and it took a moment to process where I was-a small room, the interregation room. It didn't take long to realize I was restrained.

"Finally awake?" Konohamaru's voice came from the corner of the room. He stepped forward, his face serious, arms crossed. "Those cuffs were created by Amando. They restrain you from molding any chakra. Don't even bother trying anything."

I tugged against the cuffs, but as he said, nothing happened. A small spark of electricity jolted through my arms as a warning.

His jaw tightened, he leaned against the chair, folding his arms. "Tell me what happened out there. We need answers. What were those things?"

I exhaled, leaning back in the chair. "They were God Trees with their own consciousness. They reflect the chakra and form of whoever they bite using the Claw Grime."

"Claw Grime?" Konohamaru's eyes narrowed.

"They latch onto you, like parasites, and then they copy your chakra and form," I explained. "Hidari was a copy of Sasuke, and Jura..he's not like the rest. He isn't a copy of anyone."

His brows furrowed, confusion and concern written across his face. "So they're targeting specific people?"

I nodded. "Each one of them has a target. Hidari is after Sarada," Konohamaru stared at me for a moment,"Matsuri is targeting you."

"And how do you know all this?"

I clenched my fists, feeling the cuffs dig into my skin. I couldn't tell him. Koji doesn't want me to, for his own safety.
"Can't say."

Before he could respond, the door behind him creaked open. Ibiki Morino stepped into the room, his eyes locked on me. A small grin creeping onto his face.

"So you killed Naruto," Ibiki growled, his tone low.

I met his gaze, unfazed.

Taking a step forward, he began. "I wanted to hurt you so badly after you killed Naruto. I've been waiting for this chance."

"You must'be been pretty bored these three years," I began,"I envy you."

"You brat!"

I knew what was coming before it happened. He didn't waste time. His fist connected with my stomach. I doubled over, gasping for breath as he landed another blow to my face, splitting my lip. Blood trickled down my chin, but I kept quiet.

"Talk!" he shouted, his voice echoing off the walls as he grabbed me by the collar of my shirt. "Why did you kill Naruto and Hinata? Who gave you all the information?"

I spat out some blood, glaring up at him. "I didn't kill them..They're alive. Both of them."

That seemed to stop him in his tracks for a moment. He released his grip on my shirt, stepping back as he processed what I'd said.

"Alive? You expect me to believe that after everything you've done?"

I winced, still feeling the ache in my ribs from his earlier hits. "They're safe, in a secure location. I wouldn't lie about that."

Ibiki's fists clenched, his knuckles white. He looked like he was about to go off on me again, but before he could, the door swung open, and Shikamaru walked in.
"That's enough, Ibiki," He said, stepping between us.

Ibiki growled, glaring at Shikamaru. "He's lying, and you know it!"

"I know," Shikamaru replied, his eyes narrowing. "But beating him won't get us the answers we need."

Ibiki didn't back down immediately, but after a tense moment, he stepped away, his frustration clear. Shikamaru looked at me, I could tell from his eyes that he was suspicious.

"Pain won't break you, Boruto. We both know that," Shikamaru said, his voice steady. "But Mitsuki's poison.."

A moment later, Mitsuki walked in, his face cold. Shikamaru handed him something small, whispering something I couldn't hear. Mitsuki nodded, his eyes briefly meeting mine.

Without saying a word, Mitsuki activated Sage Mode. He moved so fast that I barely had time to react before his snakes lashed out, wrapping around my cuffs.

The metal restraints fell away, clattering to the ground.

Mitsuki leaned in close, his voice barely above a whisper. "Go."

I smirked, nodding. In an instant, I activated Flying Raijin, teleporting to where my coat and sword was stashed. I grabbed my things and left.

Now I just had to find Sarada.
