The ravenet covered his mouth, dropping to his knees when he heard those words coming out of Yeonjun's lips.

"We... didn't find him Soobin."

It all began as an innocent camping trip. Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai, five best friends despite being in three different grades, had finally finished the school year, and decided to go camping.

They drove to their favorite camping site in Yeonjun's camper van, blasting all their favorite songs while singing and belting along (they all loved to sing).

They already did one activity, rowing boats down the river nearby, where they took a stop.

They brought some extra clothes under their uniforms, and they threw those off and into the bushes because it was rather warm. What a silly idea; wear extra clothes under your uniforms in 85 degree weather.

But that's them for you.

After goofing around and splashing each other with water while they continued canoeing, they headed back to the campsite (Hueningkai had to scream so they'd remember their uniforms).

They all helped each other out of their boats, and then returned to the camper van to dry off and change into fresher clothes.

That's when they also realized that they forgot to bring extra clothes for their trip. But instead of getting mad about it, they only laughed it off.

"At least we have an excuse to not get out of bed early," Beomgyu had said.

"And we can wash them in the river. Like how people centuries ago did," Yeonjun had joked.

With that thought in mind, they left the camper van again, and headed outside just as the sun broke twilight.

Once it was dark, and most people had gone to sleep except for the teens around the area, they decided to throw a short party.

All five sat around the large bonfire, roasting and toasting marshmallows and s'mores over it, cuddled close. That mainly consisted of Hueningkai nearly falling asleep on Beomgyu's lap, and Taehyun being extra clingy towards Soobin, and Yeonjun just wishing for affection.

Then, they decided to also use the sparklers and firecrackers they brought with them. They held them over the fire to light them, and then jumped around, waving them in the air, laughing and smiling as they listened to them sizzle and buzz.

Their sparks flew everywhere.

It was supposed to be harmless, and nothing bad should have come out of it.

But three minutes after they did that, and were settled down around the campfire again, they heard loud screaming.

They smelled strong smoke that wasn't coming from in front of them.

And they saw... wildfire.

Yeonjun was first to jump up from sitting, his monolid eyes wide open from fear.

"Let's get out of here!" he exclaimed.

Beomgyu shook Hueningkai by the shoulder, who had fallen asleep. Once he woke up and realized the danger they were in, he sprang up and sprinted towards the camper van.
