*Get ready for some friendly sass and cute fluff. *

After your eventful lunch with Adam, you left to go back to your house to prepare for your date. It would be a lie if you said that the experience from earlier didn't make you feel like you were the most important person in the world.

Well..at least in Adam's world.

The thought of how he was so gentle and vulnerable made you feel so...at ease. It was as if there shouldn't be a worry in your mind about what he felt for you. You were safe to feel anything around him. And while you may have known that all along, the idea of jumping into this scared you beyond what words could describe.

You didn't want to be wrong.

But how could you when he said all of those beautiful things about you?

Perhaps it was just "sex brain, right?"

No, stop it.

Standing in front of your gold-framed bathroom mirror, you wiped the condensation to look at yourself. The way you were in a constant battle with the most insecure part of your mind had become exhausting. You were surprised you didn't look more tired than you were of your excessive thoughts, but the mind-blowing office sex probably helped with your afternoon glow.

"Tonight...it's just us. The same way it was in the park. You're fine. You. Are. Fine. You reassured your nerves.

Taking a slow inhale, you closed your eyes for a few seconds and exhaled loudly. Looking back at yourself in the mirror, you shook your head in disapproval at how anxious you had made yourself.

*Ding*

Hearing your phone notification go off, you paced over to your bed to check the text message.

Adam: "I have a reservation for 7 pm at La Vie. Wear something nice❤️"

La Vie? That's romantic.

You stood there in your fluffy towel, hovering beside your bed. You stared down at your phone, biting the edge of your lip.

You: "La Vie? How the hell did you get a reservation there?!"

...

Adam: "What do you mean? I just had my friend make a reservation"

You: "Who the hell is your friend? Can I be their friend, too? That place is booked through the next 6 months."

Adam: "Well...surprise😊You're welcome. Now stop texting and go get dressed. I'll be there in 40. "

40 minutes?! I haven't even dried my hair!

You: "Damnit. Okay😘"

In a matter of seconds, you flung your towel to the ground and rushed over to your closet to find something suitable for a restaurant like La Vie. You paced between hangers of dresses but none of them came up to the standard of the La Vie. Too many of your clothes ranged between business meeting professional or homeless chic. It was definitely time for a change in wardrobe, but that would have to be pushed off to another day.

You sprinted to your robe hanging up in your bathroom and ran over to Kris's apartment for desperate help. You banged on her door erratically.

"Kris! Kris! It's Y/N! It's an emergencyyyy!"

A few seconds later, you heard the clanging of dish pots, and the front door flung open in response.

"Oh my God! What's wrong?!" A familiar masculine voice came from the other side of the door.
