The workweek was hectic, keeping you busy with numerous client and team meetings. You attempted reaching out to Adam numerous times, asking to get lunch together or if he was available to hang out. However, between the adjustment to Adam's new clients and moving into his new apartment, neither of you got a chance to see each other.

Each failed attempt to reach out left you to conclude the blatant conclusion that Adam was, in fact, ignoring you.  Your mind predicted that the reason for his aloofness had something to do the conversation held in your kitchen last Sunday about Charlie.

"I wasn't in love with him."

"It was just sex to me."

As Friday approached, you found yourself sitting in your work office, spinning the chair with the tips of your heels. Coming to a halt in your swiveled seat, a thought of Adam crossed your mind. Picking up your phone, you glanced at the time.

11:46 AM

Instinctively, you inched your chair closer to your desk, awaking your computer with your mouse. Clicking over to your digital calendar, you noticed that you were surprisingly free for the rest of the day with the exception of dropping off some paperwork to one of your clients for their contract.

Quickly, you grabbed your desk phone and dialed Adam's number, which wasn't too surprising that you memorized it by now, since you had spent all week trying to get in contact with him.

His phone went straight to voicemail.

The fucker is most definitely ignoring me.

You tapped your foot against the floor of your office, thinking of another way to get a hold of Adam. You were very aware that he probably was ignoring you because he didn't want to talk about what you had told Shoshanna right in front of him, but you weren't going to go back and forth with him like a pair of teenagers.

That's when the idea came to you.

Your fingers typed speedily onto your computer search bar, in search of Adam's studio. You found the number and immediately called. Listening to the line over the phone, you relaxed into your leather of your chair.

"Thank you for calling Peppertoon Studios. This is Jessa speaking. How can I help you?" A smooth, British voice greeted you.

"Hi Jessa, I was actually calling to speak with Adam Sackler, one of the designers there. Is he available right now?" You replied.

"Oh, yes! Give me moment to let me check and I'll be right with you." You expected the girl to put you on hold, but instead, her voice bounced faintly on the phone in between russled sounds.

You could hear her speaking with a deep, male voice that you were certain was Adam. Suddenly, you heard the phone shuffling as if she took her hand off the speaker.

"Excuse me, may I ask who's calling?" She asked calmly.

"Y/N L/N." You replied kindly.

"One moment." She requested.

Again, you heard the shuffling sound and Adam's voice reply back to the British girl. However, this time you heard her flirtatiously giggle before answering you.

"I'm sorry, Ms. L/N, but unfortunately, Adam is not available. If you would like, I can always leave a message for him and he can call you back."

You took a deep sigh of frustration into the phone, probably audible for Jessa to hear.

"Jessa, tell Adam to get on the phone. I can hear him right next to you." You stated bluntly without raising you voice.

"Oh...no ma'am. He's actually–"
