This is a little better than my first one, I don't write smut but this might be heading in that direction if I don't think of something better...this part is pretty short only about 2k words

Warnings: Not really any, he gets a little touchy at the end but nothing happens past kissing

Backstory:
Ohio. How could you hate a place so much yet love it enough to buy a house there. Sure, you definitely did hate the cities and suburbs of Ohio, but out in the country, off the grid, the middle of nowhere, it was gorgeous to you. You thought of it being a mix of Tennessee with some of the hills resembling mountains but still like your home state of Michigan where you could enjoy going to one of the Great Lakes at almost any time.
You bought the house in a small town several years ago where you could look out the back window to see the woods on top of the hill along with the wildlife that inhabits it. It had a large back yard, patio, and you had a large wooden box which you used as a garden. If you were talking to someone about this house you could go on for ages but your favorite thing about the whole place was the town you were in and how you made the house your own.
You made several friends within your towns small population and they would often come over to share a meal on your patio in the back yard. Also in your back yard was a rocking bench/swing where you sat in the mornings during the spring and summer to read a book and curl up with a hot cup of tea and your dog. Even in this state you thought you hated or would hate, it was home and you never wanted to leave.

Beginning-
Your alarm clock rung in your ear for what seemed like the millionth time. You rolled over to look at the face of the clock and read 8:45 am. "Damn it" you muttered to yourself. Work started at nine and you hadn't even rolled out of bed yet. No time for relaxing today. You walked to the bathroom where you started your morning routine of brushing your teeth and hair, doing skincare, and applying a small amount of makeup. You looked at the clock on the wall and read 8:50. At first you thought only about hurrying to get to work but your second thought was about how you actually got ready that fast. You slipped on your linen top, overalls, and vans shoes before tying your hair in a half up knot and running out the door. 9:53. You felt relieved, you would make it on time. As soon as you pulled into the greenhouse about three minutes down the road you were greeted by your coworker Christine, "good morning y/n, we have a busy day ahead of us. Getting calls from people out of state already." While you did love working in the greenhouse around the things you loved (plants) the people could get a little out of hand. Your town wasn't very well known but tourists and people visiting family in the cities around you would often travel hours just to come to little shops for the aesthetic.
You were assigned to the cash register for this busy day and you were already not looking forward to it. The only up side to this job was being able to select the music being played from the record player that sat on a shelf in the corner. You scanned through the vinyls when you finally found one that caught your eye. The cover was almost like leather and it had gold detailing on it.
The spine read...The Battle At Gardens Gate-Greta Van Fleet..."hmm" you thought to yourself, I don't really know this one but I think I recognize a few of these titles. About a half an hour had passed when a man walked in to the greenhouse. You didn't pay much attention and decided to hum along with the music. You knew this song, Light My Love. You'd heard it on TikTok a few times so it was familiar. As you were humming and had your back to the counter you heard a voice behind you say, "good song, huh?" You turned around to see the man who had long brown hair cut just above his shoulders to where it barely hung over. He was short but not too short and he was carrying a small potted plant. "Yeah I guess it's ok, it's by some band...Greta something." He smirked, "Greta Van Fleet." You smiled at him, "you know them?" He returned your smile and handed you his credit card to pay for the plant, "I am them" he said. "What do you mean" you replied. "I'm the guitarist, Jake. I don't really like to brag but I'd say that's a pretty good song you're listening to"
You stared at him in awe. "You're like a celebrity then, what is a celebrity doing in a little greenhouse?" He replied with, "well I was just buying a present for my mom on the way back up to Michigan but now I guess I'm about to ask a pretty girl what she's doing working in a teeny tiny greenhouse and not doing something for the whole world to see like she should be." You had so many questions and responses to everything he had just said, you could barely pick one to say out loud. He called you pretty and you asked about Michigan. What we're you thinking, "you're from Michigan, that's where I'm from." "Oh really, I guess we have some things in common, how about I give you my number and we can discuss what all we have in common some other time." "Some other time?" You responded, "don't you have some famous person stuff to be doing?" He giggled "nope, I'm actually staying here in town for a few days, I need a break and I just needed to find a quiet little town to stay in."  You we're still in shock, maybe starstruck. Saying barely anything you exchanged numbers and goodbyes as he left.
After your busy day you returned home thinking little of the interaction you had today as it still felt like nothing more than a dream. It couldn't be real. You had done your research on the band just to make sure this guy wasn't making this up and sure enough there his face was on the promo pictures for a new album. People said he was shy...this had to be a dream...he definitely wasn't shy, he was so forward. Even though you felt like this you also felt a hint of that feeling of butterflies in your stomach. Everything hit you at once. He's real. He's a person. A beautiful person. And he might be interested in you.
You tried to keep your mind off of todays events by going out to your swing in the backyard and reading a book. You were deeply entranced in your book when you heard a buzz from your phone. You flipped your phone over expecting a text from Christine or your mom and instead you saw his name staring back at you. Jake.
He just asked you out...that text...what...he asked you out. You were speechless, but why, why should you be he was obviously going to do this to begin with. 7pm at the local diner. A real date. With a real celebrity. You really liked him. You knew that. You just met the man and already you loved how he looked, his forwardness, and now that you knew of it, his talent.
You began to get ready, putting on a little more makeup than you had already applied but not too much considering you were just going to a small place in town where everyone knew you. And it's not like you were trying to impress Jake... or were you. You walked over to your closet and pulled out a shirt that hung low on your chest, showing quite a bit of cleavage. It was also crocheted so it was as "scandalous" as you could go in this small town without old men being all over you. You didn't want to go too fancy with the pants so you opted for some simple skinny jeans. Was this too far? It's not like you were trying to attract him anyway. "I guess this is fine" you whispered to yourself. You slipped on your Birkenstocks and headed out the door to get in your car.
You arrived at the diner right at seven and Jake was nowhere to be found. Is this some kind of sick joke, did he ghost me? As you were getting nervous you saw Jake walking in the door and smiling as soon as he got a glimpse of you. "Sorry I'm late" he said " I should have told you before, I'm always late , that's why i don't usually ask people on dates." "You don't ask people on dates huh? So I'm special?" You said with a hint of sarcasm "I guess you are...and by the way you look beautiful" he replied. You thanked him as the waiter was coming to your table. You both ordered a sandwich that was your favorite off of the menu and then the rest of the date consisted of talking about your lives, what you had in common, and music was sprinkled into that conversation here and there.
You don't remember much about the date. Only that it was magical and ended with you bringing him home. Was this too fast. Nah. You weren't going to do anything you'd regret. You had other plans. As soon as you arrived at your house you grabbed his hand and pulled him to the back yard. It was dark but you could still see everything being lit by the moon that was almost full and the stars. Oh the stars. "Sit" you told him as you led him over to your swing. He sat and looked at you deeply in the eyes. He put his hand on your thigh and kept it still. Is he trying to tease me, you thought. Maybe, whatever he was doing you were going to beat him at his own game. Maybe you were overthinking it but you slowly leaned in as if you we're going to kiss him and closed your eyes for a few seconds. Just as he started going in for the kiss you tilted your head slightly sideways and whispered in his ear, "look up." He looked up and was shocked to see what he thought was every star in space. It was beautiful. You could see every constellation and you almost thought you could see planets.
Jake looked at the sky in awe. You both laid there for several minutes when you felt an arm wrap around your waist. "You're a tease you know" Jake whispered "you owe me a kiss now" You didn't say a single word. You looked him dead in the eyes and pulled his face into yours, kissing him passionately. He tasted sorta like mint and sorta like the sandwich you had just eaten but somehow it was also sweet. You could smell his cologne. Something resembling wood with maybe a hint of patchouli. You wished this moment would never end. You'd just met earlier today and this is already what you were doing. It felt like you were going to plan your future together in the next hour. House, marriage, kids and all. You did think about that but really, only a psycho would do that. Little did you know you were going to be pulled in by whatever spell he was casting on you and you'd have some decisions to make soon...
