Hello!! The cover is kind of trash but I was rushing getting this chapter out so 🤷‍♀️. I was reading through this story and I realized I didn't give much of a description of the characters so if you'd like more info just tell me and I'll put in it a chapter. Anyways enjoy!❤️❤️❤️

Today was my birthday or "beginning of existence day" as everyone else calls it. Giggles has been telling me about their plans for days and they woke me up super early to prepare.
"Now let's check the guest list... Trixie, Sarah couldn't make it, Abagail said she's bringing the twins, Sammie, and-..." Giggles pauses a moment.
"...what's the matter?" I ask curiously.
"Well I invited Ms. Penny to your party but I'm nervous of what she'll think of you" Giggles says as they play with the string of their balloon head(nervous habit).
"Why would you be nervous about me meeting her, is she mean?" I ask now feeling equally as uneasy.
"Well..." they begin clearly trying to think of a way to say it kindly.
"Ms. Penny had some....bad experiences with humans as a kid and is super against them being in the Backrooms." Giggles says slowly.
"But I'm not a human?" I say now genuinely confused.
"I'm a shadow person" I say, "I can't even remember my past".
"Well Ms. Penny is still a little.... "Harsh" towards people like you who started in the human realm" Giggles says as they put down the paper containing the guest list and go to get more party supplies. (I hope things will go okay and that I won't have to interact with Ms. Penny...)

"So Norman are you excited?!!"asks Trixie as she bounces up and down on the soft green floor mat she's sitting on.
"Yeah I am-" I begin to speak but a cold voice interrupts me.
"So YOU'RE the human everyone's been talking about, honestly I don't understand why everyone's so excited about this, it just means more people trying colonize us. For all we know you're a spy sent by the humans to watch over us"she sneered.
I look up to see a tall woman wearing old fashioned purple clothes with light purple ruffles and poofy sleeves. She had an oversized eyeball as her head with a gold pentagram as the pupil.
She glared down at me and I cowered under her, holding Trixie's shoulder for comfort.
"Hey Ms. Penny!" Trixie says excitedly, I can't tell if she's trying to change the subject away from me or if she's genuinely just trying to talk with Ms. Penny.
"Oh and of course YOU TWO are friends, you human brats" she says as she glares at the both of us.
"What did you mean earlier by humans colonizing the Backrooms...?" I ask quietly.
"Oh of course you'd play dumb." She says angrily.
"Well YOUR people have been coming in here and kidnapping OUR people, everyone says their just "MiSsInG" but I know YOU HUMANS had something to do with it.
(Taking them....)
"But why?" I ask genuinely interested now.
"Because you humans want to experiment on us and use our natural abilities for your own advantage, you're all selfish greedy beings with no care for those around you and it sickens me." She says as she begins to storm off.
(Experiment....)

*flashback*
"You can do it I know you can..."
(A hand. My wrist hurts. Everything hurts.
"Just do as I say, it's all for the greater good..."
(Sharp pain. Hurts.)
"NO!"
(Burning. Hurts. Make it stop. Make it stop. Make it stop.)
"Oh come on now it's just a tiny Experiment~"
(Fading. Dark. Cold...)
*end flashback*

"Man-! Orman-! NORMAN!"
"Agh! Sorry what?" I say as I try and calm myself down.
"Giggles said it's time for food, are you feeling alright?" Trixie asks as she offers me a hand to get up.
"Yeah... all good just... hungry yeah..." I say trying to calm myself.
"Let's go get some food then silly!" She says as she drags me towards the table for food.
(That can't be real....right?)
