Be My Mate

Chapter 9

“Tae!” Yoongi hugs Taehyung tightly.

“Hi. You’re stepping on my tail,” Taehyung says threw clenched teeth.

Yoongi moves back seeing Taehyung tail flicker. He takes his carefully, a frown on his face.

“I’m sorry,” Yoongi says brushing the dirt of Taehyung’s tail.

Taehyung giggles, “It’s okay. I missed you too.”

“How was your heat,” Yoongi asks concerned.

“It wasn’t fun,” Taehyung sighs. “Jin was helpful. He made sure I didn’t leave my dorm.”

“Why couldn’t I see you? I mean Namjoon told me it was dangerous, but he wouldn’t even let me near your dorm,” Yoongi pouts.

Taehyung smiles as he takes Yoongi’s hand and places a soft kiss, “Well I am a tiger, so I want to protect you from anyone who could steal you. I become more in touch with my tiger side than normal.”

Yoongi hums, “Will I ever be able to help you?”

Taehyung tilts his head, “When we mate, but you are aware of what ruts are right?”

Yoongi nods, “I remembered it from my hybrid classes in high school. It’s a mating thing where you go into a rut for a few days and become really sexually active in order to have a higher chance of producing offspring.”

“Yeah. Usually mates help each other through it, but it’s harder for non-hybrids since they weren’t made for that kind of…roughness.” Taehyung explains.

Yoongi hums, “Maybe some day I can at least try to help you.”

Taehyung smiles softly, “How was your week?”

“It was good. I kind of told my parents we were dating,” Yoongi says shyly.

“You did? Did they take the news well?”

Yoongi nods, “My mother was happy for me and my father…well he never shows a lot of emotion so it was hard to tell, but he didn’t say anything about it so I’m assuming he was okay.”

“I’m glad they approve,” Taehyung says happily.
