3rd POV
Peter glides his fingertips over Sage's bare back as they both lay in bed. She stirs and wakens. She smiles at Peter. He smiles back at her. "Last night ..." He says "Mmm." she muffles out "Before we kissed, you, uh ... made a toast." He says remembering "To love. May we stay away from it when it's no good for us." Sage says reciting her words once again. "I was meaning to ask ..." He says until Sage cuts him off "I wasn't talking about you. Clearly." She says with a pause "I know." Sage chuckles.
"It's just ... you and Sebastian" She rolls over to look at him. The door buzzes. Peter leans forward and they kiss. The door buzzes again "They had to ruin our moment. Didn't they" He smiles and guts up from the bed. "There's coffee in the kitchen." As he leaves the room, Sage wistfully touches her lips, still feeling the sensation of them kissing. The door buzzes again.Peter puts on a shirt and peers through the peephole. He opens the door. Nathan looks at Peter.
"You think this is one big joke, don't you, Pete?" Peter steps out of the apartment and joins Nathan out in the hallway. He closes the door quietly. "Your buddy Suresh. He came by my campaign office this morning. Made a big scene. He's talking about mind-reading and spontaneous regeneration."
"Chandra Suresh." Peter ask crossing his arms "Yeah." Peter gives his brother a questioning look. "How'd he find you?" Nathan nudges the book at Peter's chest, he takes the book and inspects it. "You tell me." Nathan says looking angrily at his younger brother. "What, do you think I called him?" Peter says as he notices the look he gives him. "Don't insult me. I've got trained professionals to do that." As peter was about to respond you're able to hear Sage's voice from the kitchen.
"Hey, where did you move your mugs?" Nathan pushes the door open and sees Sage dressed in Peter's shirt and standing on a stool looking in the cabinets. "Hey, uh ... it's, uh ... They're in the cabinet with the water stain that looks like Abraham Lincoln." Luckily Sage doesn't look back at the two. "Thank you" She says as peter closes the door.
"Look ... here's some money, all right? Take it. You want answers, go find 'em. It's on me. I need you to disappear for a while, okay? You're becoming a liability." He says taking and envelope out of his pocket but Peter doesn't take the envelope. Instead, he opens the apartment door and leaves Nathan standing in the hallway. Peter shuts the door and Nathan leaves. He turns and finds Sage still in his shirt. "Don't you have to work" He wraps his arms around her and pulls her close as she put her hands on the back of his head, fiddling with his hair.. "Yes, but I won't go" She says looking up at Peter "Why?"
"I want to help you find this doctor Suresh guy. I think we can find his address if you let me go look for it in the Campaign."
"Okay let's do it" He smiles at her "Let me change. Im still wearing your shirt" she says as she lets go of him "You like great in my shirt." She smiles and kisses Peter. She walkes away from him ad he starts to stair and wonder his eyes towards her petite body. "By the way, there is nothing between me and Sebastian any more. We broke up." She says as she puts her dress on.
-------------
SageWe get to Chandra Suresh's apartment, we found it when he asked about it at my work. and I knock on the door and peter spoke up "Where looking for Chandra Suresh." We wait for a while when someones voice spoke up, it was a woman "He doesn't live here anymore." Peter sigh but I speaks up "The guys at the Petrelli campaign gave me this address. They said he came by this morning?" Someone opens the door. It was a tall man with curly hair and dark skin. "You Chandra Suresh?" Peter ask "No. That was my father."
"Yeah, um ... your father wrote a book about people with ... abilities. I—I think I, we may be one of them." We waited as Mohinder talked to Eden then they came back. "It was a pleasure to meet you." The woman says. Peter stands up but i don't
"Yeah."
"Um ... good luck with the whole flying and shield thing"
"Thanks." Peter and Sage say in unison . Eden leaves and Mohinder sits in a chair. "So ... when you're with your brother, you can fly, and when you're with the artist –"
"Isaac, yeah. Um, I only met him once, but after, I ... I drew the future."
"And now you don't do either."
"Maybe I can only do things when I'm around other people who can ... do things. Did that sound as lame as I think it did?"
"It sounds like you should be talking to my father. This was his research, not mine.
"Well, where is he? How do I get a hold of him?"
"He's on the table." he says bluntly, Peter and Sage see the urn on the table behind Mohinder. "I ... I'm sorry. But ... you believe that this is possible. You have to, I mean ... you believed it this morning. What if I prove it to you?"
"Then prove it." Peter stands up. "We'll go see Nathan. When I'm around him, I can fly. I've done it before, twice."
"Fine. Let's go see your brother."
"Wait, um ... he's in Vegas." He says, forgetting about the situation "Of course he is."He scoffs. I was ready to punch this guy in the face. "Then ... We'll take you to Isaac's. But it's ... it's complicated." I say "Complicated how?"
We where now on the train startups to Isaac's loft, I just sat next to Peter who was standing with Mohinder "I've only met him the once, but ... maybe I ought to do the talking to start with. He's, heh, he's kind of a heroin addict."
"Heroin addict? You neglected to mention that."
"Hey, just suspend the skepticism, at least until you meet him. He's a good person" I said rolling my eyes at him "The default scientific position is skepticism."
"Your father managed to get around it. I don't know, he took a pretty big leap. Gotta respect that."
"I did more than respect it. I believed him. I had to. I was his son." I raise a brow, he only believed him BECAUSE he was his son, only because of that? "Can't be only one reason why you believed him." Looks like Peters been reading my mind lately.
"Look at what's happening to our planet: overpopulation, global warming, drought, famine, terrorism. Deep down, we all sense something's not right. My father always talked about how an entire species will go extinct while others, no more unique or complex, will change and adapt in extraordinary ways. He had a romantic take on evolution."
"And you don't? You're both geneticists."
"That is also evolution. We're all just variations of the last model."
"Yeah, cheap knockoffs of our fathers."
As we get to his loft I knock on the door.
"Isaac its sage, open up." I say but no one answers. I knock again "Isaac?" I ask, I continue to knock "Isaac" I said once more and I put my hand flat on the door, seems like he isn't here. But we should wait just in case." We waited for a while and then went back on the stupid subway
"What if we went back tomorrow?" Peter ask putting a hand on my shoulder but looking at Mohinder. "Look, I'm not trying to discount your experience. It's just a week ago I was in my own country, a respected professor. Now you want me to stalk a heroin addict who allegedly ... (voices slows down) ... paints ... the ... future ..."
His voice slows down and i can feel time stop "Mohinder?Sage." The subway train is frozen on the tracks and start to cough as my breath got hitched. "You okay" I nodded my head. He slams his hand against the glass window. He turns around and heads back through the car. He slowly turns around. Someone is standing behind us with a samurai sword slung around his back. We both turn around.
"Peter Perrelli and Sage Deveaux?"
Peter and I backs away from him.
"How is this happening?" I ask "I'm sorry if I scared you. You look different without your scar."
"I don't know you, buddy." He says shaking his head slightly "Not yet. My name is Hiro Nakamura. I'm from the future. I have message for you" Peter, Sage and Hiro look at each other.
