TWO WEEKS LATER

Peter is in a coma. A heart monitor beeps steadily in the quiet hospital room. Although his eyes are closed, his eyelids are moving from REM. He's dreaming and having visions.

—————

Peter is still in the hospital bed. Nathan is standing near the glass window inside the room, his back to Peter.

—————

Peter is still in the hospital bed. His mom, Angela Petrelli, stands over him, watching him. Nathan is standing near the doorway, his back to Peter. Angela steps forward and brushes Peter's hair with her fingers.Nathan turns around and walks over to the bed. He looks at Peter. Angela turns and looks at Nathan. Peter is still in the hospital bed. The heart monitor beeps in the b.g.
—————

Simone walks in carrying a bunch of flowers. She walks past Nathan, who is sitting in the chair, she sees her sister asleep her head on Peter's bed, she kisses her head and gives the flowers to Mrs. Petrelli. She puts a hand on her shoulder. Simone turns and looks at Peter. She puts her handbag down on the floor near the bed and touches Peter's forehead.

"He's burning up" she says "Persistent idiopathic fever. Means they have no idea what's wrong. Fly in the best doctors in the world, just to have them tell me they don't know what they're doing in four different languages." She sits down. "His heart — they don't know how much more he can take."

"Twenty-six years old, he's gonna die of a heart attack?" Angela ask shaking her head "He's not gonna die, Ma."

"Well, he will unless I do something." She gets up and heads out. "Why don't you just let the doctors do what they do?" But she leaves anyway. Simone sits on the edge of Peter's bed.

"I wish I knew what was going on in there."

"Just before he passed out, he said he, uh ... He felt he was absorbing too many powers."

"Peter wanted to see that painting. I told Sage to show it to him"

"After I told you to tell her not to, you knew he was gonna follow that thing headfirst all the way to Texas. He's my brother and I love him, but we both know he shouldn't have even been there."

"It was important to him and to my sister."

"You really believe all this crap? Future paintings? The end of the world?"

"I know they believe it. And I believe in them."

"Fine. Then show me." He stands up and puts his jacket on. "I've been in this damn hospital room for two weeks, waiting for something to happen. I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit around and watch my brother die. Take me to the artist. I want to see what's worth all this." Simone picks up her bag. Nathan goes over to Peter and kisses him gently on the cheek. "I love you, man."

Sage lifted up her head. Tears were rolling down her cheek, she never fell asleep. She hasn't slept in a week. She stayed at the hospital as much as she could. But she would always go home and shower. But she didn't eat or sleep, how could she. The one that she loves the most might die right in front of her and she can't do anything about it. She hates watching him like this, she couldn't imagine a world without Peter Petrelli. He one and only light in this world and now it's fading away. She remembered a poem her mother used to tell her when she little. And it goes like this;

"The other night, dear

As I lay sleeping

I dreamed I held you in my arms.

When I awoke, dear

I was mistaken

And I hung my head and cried;

You are my sunshine

My only sunshine

You make me happy

When skies are grey

You'll never know dear

How much I love you

Please don't take my sunshine away"

She couldn't do it without peter. She left, going to the top of her father's building. She stayed there. She took down from her father's building and someone stood next to her. "Peter's gone." Her heart skipped a beat. "What?" She gulped  "Don't worry. He's alive but he ran out somehow."

She sighed "You scared me."

"We taught he would be with you but we were wrong."

"I'll tell you if I ever find him."

"Thank you." He kissed the top of my head and hugged me for a while
