~Confession (Past au)

(This is based around before Noah and Michael started dating. Noah and Michael are around 17 and Noah is going to confess about liking him. Btw Noah and Michael are still in high school.)

(Noahs pov)

"Hey M?" I ask as I walk over to him. Michael was with his friends laughing about something. His laugh was the loudest. It made me blush a little bit but I quickly hide it before I walk over.

"Yeah?" Michael says. I pause before talking again. Hesitating I speak.

"I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out after school or something at the skate park? If your free of course" I say in a quiet tone. I watch as eight eyes stare at me. One pair blinks a lot and his face goes a little red.

"Uh...Yeah...sure, I'm not busy" I hear Michael finally say. I smile.

"Alright. Also, Stella wants to talk to you" I see Michael roll his eyes and sigh.

"What does she want?" He says as he hops off the table he's sitting on. I lead him away to go and find Stella for whatever reason she wants him. We talk on the way and laugh.

"Oh they definitely have a crush on one another" Simon says once we left.
"Totally. Who do thinks gonna ask out who first? I bet you fifteen bucks it's Noah" replies Savanna.
"Deal!"

(Michaels pov)

I'm standing alone in the schools boys bathroom thinking about after school. I frown a bit as I remember my face going red when he asked me. I knew it went red because I felt it. I groan and look in the mirror.

Noah seemed happy when I said yes. Maybe he likes me back..? No! He wouldn't...

Eventually I head back to history class and sit down on my seat. I look at Simon who's taking glances at me and Fredrick who's doing a deep frown.
"What?" I whisper, frowning also.

"So you're going on a date with your boyfriend are you?" Simon whispers back, smirking. I feel my face grow red.

"What?! No! We're friends Simon. Why's Fredrick look so pissed?"

"Sure sure. He's mad because your going to the skate park with Noah when you said you would do the rock thing with him"

Confused, I suddenly widen my eyes. "That's today?! Oh, Fredrick I'm sorry.." I watch as he murmurs something.

"It's fine."

"God I completely forgot...I can tell Noah we could cancel for another day and I'll do the rock thing with you" I say, a little disappointed that he would agree with it because I really wanted to hang out with Noah. Fredrick looks up at me and rolls his eyes.

"No don't cancel with Noah, I know how much you love him." He says the last part sarcastically and I feel my cheeks burn red.

"Shut up! We are only friends, I don't know why everyone thinks we're a couple!" I grumble.

"Maybe you two look like one?" Laughs Simon.

"Shut up! We do not..." My cheeks flush a bright red and I could feel them heating up. "Just leave me alone..."

I watch them both raise their eyebrows but they drop it and get back to the work we were assigned. It was some boring test thing.

(Noahs pov)

This is happening. I'm gonna do it. Michael and I were hanging out at the skatepark and it got boring so we went back to my house. Right now we were sitting on my roof looking at the stars.

"This is so cool! Why didn't you show me this sooner?" Michael asks turning his head towards me. He brings his knees up to his chest and rests his arms on them.

"Oh, uh I guess I never really thought about it" I chuckle nervously. Looking back up at the sky I see all the tiny dots. It was quite bright since the moon was in clear view, not a single cloud in sight. Okay maybe a few clouds but still very bright outside.

"Damn, it's cool up here, I like the stars" Michael says smiling as he looks back up at the sky. His face was lit up from the moon so you could clearly see he was smiling.

"Yeah..." I mumble. "Can I ask you something..?"

"Yeah sure" He doesn't turn his head to look at me when he says that, he keeps looking at the sky.

I hesitate before speaking, and I turn my head to face him. "Well...you've been in a few relationships haven't you?"

He then turns his head to look me. A look of confusion on his face. "Uh, yeah why?"

"Have any of them been guys...?" I ask nervously.

Michaels eyes widen a bit at the sudden question and he looks down at the concrete below us. "One, Fredrick"

"Oh, right..." I frown slightly and look up at the sky. "Can I ask another question?"

(Michaels pov)

"Sure" I keep looking at the concrete below us and feel confused about why Noah was asking me that. He knew I had dated Fredrick already.

I look at him and see him hesitate and stay silent for about 3 minutes.

"Well?"

The next thing he says shocks me and my eyes bro wide.

(Noah's pov)

"Do you wanna go out with me, as in date?" I say finally after 3 minutes of silence. My head is still turned up to the stars but I'm not drowning anymore.

"I-uh..." He stutters. It's clear he's surprised. Very surprised.

"It's okay if you say no" I say smiling softly as I turn my head to him.

"I-what? No! I mean...yes..? I don't know.." He says panicking as he buries his head in his knees.

I chuckle a little and watch him closely before turning my head down to look at the ground beneath us. "It's okay, I know it's a weird question, it's a no isn't it?"

"What? No no no, I was just a little caught of guard that's all" He says quickly as he takes his head out from being buried in his knees and now rests his chin on them. Michael sighs. "The truth is, I've had a crush on you for a while now. I didn't wanna say anything because I thought it was weird and stupid..."

My eyes widen and I look over at him this time. My cheeks burn a little. "Really...?"

"Yeah...I just felt weird about it since your my best friend you know?" He says smiling softly at me.

"Uh, yeah I guess so.." I say calming down a little. "So...?"

He looks up at the stars and smiles. His cheeks are a little red but he's smiling widely.

"Yes. I will date you..."
