10:30 — Warming Up

Mikaela's POV

I went to the old court with Aria and Rey, while Mitch stays inside our classroom, or to make it more eventful-like, the 'Headquarters'. It's where we planned our own chant, and where we rest— if we aren't going to play.

But that's going to change, because the tournament starts at 1:30. Right.. But that's not gonna stop us from backing off, we're ready for this!

"Aaahhhh.. seriously, 3 hours?!" Rey complained, sitting on the bleachers beside me and Aria. "It's gonna take long, but the Chess players already started. We still got time to rest, it's not a big deal." Aria patted Rey on the shoulder, comforting her.

"I want to start already, at the same time I also wanna sleep.. and Rey's screaming hurt my ears." I said in a plain tone, scratching the back of my neck.

FLASHBACK

Narrator's POV

"GO BETELGEUSE GO!" Rey chanted, standing up on the staircase. She encouraged them in a really loud tone, which made the whole court hear her. But they weren't bothered; they were winning the game, Rey was one of the reasons why Betelgeuse won most of the games.

Betelgeuse was the second loudest, mainly because of their Highschool. Rey was able to handle her raspy throat, after all of the aggressive screeching she didn't hesitate to do.

While the other 3 girls.. let's just say, they could feel their ears ringing. It only lasted for 1 minute, but it hurt just the slightest bit.

Mitch, Mikaela, and Aria only sat down on the staircase, not doing anything else but using their own phone. Occasionally, Faith from Sagittarius-A would also encourage Betelgeuse, and Rey doing vice versa in return.

But the 3 also decided to cheer, just only for a few minutes. They would join in chanting, but stopping right after.

BACK TO PRESENT

Aria's POV

I chuckled, looking at Mikaela. I agreed to her statement, nodding my head. Rey's loud voice did make us suffocate a bit, but we knew the pride in her presence.

"Be careful Rey.. we might be disqualified for your shouting.." I crossed my arms, smiling sheepishly at her.

"Sorry, sorry! I'll try to control my voice at some point.." Rey said, hitting her head 2 times gently, to get herself to not make any more mistakes. Me, Mikaela, and Rey went to get our own rackets to practice.

12:30 — Lunchtime!

Rey's POV

I ate my sopas happily, loving the boiled egg Ma'am Mari made. She was the Mathematics teacher, but she was calm and kind whenever she tried to help us. She was also the Headroom Master, or the one who handled our team.

I went back to using my phone, once in a while.. just showing my 3 teammates a video. I felt really bored, and I really didn't know what to do. That was until..

Ma'am Mari gave us a mat to rest on for a while, if we needed sleep. "I call dibs!" I exclaimed, and laid down on the mat immediately. I yawned, and shifted to the side. I was tired, but I was still able to run, or do other physical things. I used my phone, feeling bored.

1:00 — Off to the Gym!

Rey's POV (again)

I grabbed my bag and my racket, making a hand gesture for Mikaela and the other 2 to go with me. We were extremely nervous, but we were going to give this a shot!

Ma'am Jeni.. our Filipino teacher, the one who would lighten up the classroom was excited, and told us to chant. We went to the bleachers, feeling a bit nervous— but we were happy anyway!

We did a warm up exercise, stretching our legs, or rotating our head to avoid neck pain. We also practiced our grip with the badminton racket, and it went well.

I looked around at the court, and there was not one, not two, or not three.. but THOUSANDS of boys, at the GYM?! I gasped, my eyes widened at the sight of them.

"What the HECK?!?" I said in disbelief, looking over at Mikaela and Aria, making sure they saw the same thing. Their jaw was slightly opened, also them looking at our.. opponents.

"No way they're our opponents, NO WAY!" I shook my head, looking away from the other Academy. One boy noticed me, and whispered to another guy. I glared at the boy, staring at him up and down.

"Attention all boys and girls!" We heard a loud speaker, and then listened to it carefully. "You may wonder, 'Why are we against the opposite gender, why aren't we—' NO!" The voice cut themself off, then continued to speak.

"We came to our decision, to make this tournament a bit more special! Dark Moon Academy and Bright Sun Academy! This event, will be now known as 'Rise of the Eclipse', where two Academies collide— like the Sun and Moon aligned! Give it your all, be a humble winner and a cheerful loser!"

I started hyperventilating, and desperately went to the comfort room. I tried to wash my face, my eyes all puffy and red.
