Vivienne’s breathing became more intense and her heart beat
faster.
She stared for fear of missing anything.
But when the urine soaked through the paper, it was still just a bar.
Two bars indicate pregnancy.
She was not pregnant.
Vivienne didn’t give up, she still held a glimmer of hope, staring at the pregnancy test stick, hoping that there would be a miracle and another bar would appear.
One minute, two minutes, five minutes passed…
Still only one bar.
Disappointed, Vivienne threw the pregnancy test paper into the trash can, adjusted her mentality, and went out.
“Vivi, how was it?” Lainey was waiting outside, and when he saw her, he immediately asked positively.
Vivienne shook her head and smiled helplessly, “No.”
Lainey was also disappointed, but she immediately said, “It’s okay, you two got married not long ago. Don’t worry, you might be pregnant soon.”
“Hope so.””
Although Vivienne was disappointed, she was relieved quickly. She knew it was not easy to ge
“I’ll take you home first, and I need to go to my mother later.””
Lainey said, “Then you find your mom directly, I ask my boyfriend to pick me up.”
“Okay.”
Vivienne drove back to her mother’s house, she took the key
and entered the house.
Elena wasn’t in the living room, voices came from the bedroom.
Vivienne went to the bedroom and heard Elena phoning someone, saying, “Did all the children in the orphanage be sent away that year? What about those girls? How many girls are there, where are they sent, and some are adopted?”
“Mom, who are you calling.” Vivienne walked in curiously.
Seeing that Vivienne came back, Elena was startled, and hurriedly said, “I’ll call you another day.”
After hanging up the phone, Elena asked, “Why didn’t you tell me that you would come back?”
“I can’t come back anytime?” Vivienne said with a smile, “Mom, I heard you just said about the orphanage, adopting children, what’s going on?”
Elena felt guilty, and pretended casually, “Isn’t Lily childless? Aunt Stella asked me to contact the orphanage for Lily to adopt the child. Then she will not lonely when she gets old.”
Just a few days ago, Elena went to the orphanage where she lost her granddaughter. By chance, she ran into the former dean, so she left her contact information to inquire.
Since Elena saw Eve, she often dreamed about her lost granddaughter and felt uneasy, so she wanted to look for her.
She only wanted to know the whereabouts of her granddaughter and whether she was doing well or not.
“Mom, you worry about too much. It’s not that Lily can’t have children, but it’s that Jason can’t.” Vivienne said, “Lily was definitely going to divorce. She was not too old now and will have her own children.”
“Yes, your Aunt Stella called in the morning and said that Lily, sued Jason for divorce.” Elena said, “Hunt family don’t let her go. It’s really not easy for her to divorce. By the way, why are you back so late?”
“I was promoted today, and I just had dinner with Lainey. I’ll come to see you and get you some money.” Vivienne took out five thousand dollars from her bag, and said, “Mom, wait until I get paid next month, I’ll get you some more.”
“I don’t need to spend any money, you take it back.” Elena refused, “I have money, so don’t give me the money. When I’m not healthy and need you to spend money, you can give it to me. Now, you can give it to yourself to buy something delicious and comfortable to wear. Don’t treat yourself badly.”
“Mom, just accept it, you raised me so much, I want to repay you. “Vivienne put the money on the table, “Take it, spend it as you like.”
Elena was delighted, she worked so hard to bring up Vivienne, and all her efforts were not in vain.
At this time, Vivienne’s cell phone rang, and it was a call from Damien.
Vivienne glanced at the caller ID and said to Elena, “Mom, I’m going back first, take care of yourself.”
Elena warned, “Be careful and drive slowly.”
“I know.”
Vivienne walked into the elevator, and then got through to Damien’s phone, “Off work?”
“Well, you’re not at home?” Damien’s mellow voice came, “Today you got a promotion and salary increase, I’ll take you to celebrate, where are you, I’ll pick you up.”
“I’m at Mom’s place, where are we going?”
Vivienne waited for more than half an hour when Damien arrived in his Chevrolet.
Looking at the familiar car, Vivienne walked to it happily, opened the door, and got in.
“Where are we going? Lainey and I had dinner. Did you?”
“Yep, I have eaten something.” Damien turned sideways and fastened Vivienne’s seat belt.
His unique smelts surrounded Vivienne, and his handsome facial features were close at hand, making her heart beat faster.
There was always a faint smell of jasmine from his body, which was very pleasant.
“You’ll know in a while.”
He fastened the seat belt for her, and before sitting back, he kissed her lips.
Vivienne’s eyes widened in astonishment, and he smiled, “Sit still.”
She blushed and muttered, “Huh.”
He took her hand with one hand, drove with one hand, and drove the car towards the suburbs.
An hour later, he took her to the highest mountain in the suburbs. Standing on the viewing platform, they could overlook half of Washington DC.
The top of the mountain was windy and the temperature was lower at night.
