Daisy Shih - a scientific researcher and animal activist who found and raised Hu

Snowball- a soldier in the US army, is also an expert hunter and trapper

Hu - a giant tiger like creature with super strength and the ability to breathe underwater, raised by Daisy from a young age

Gidget Adams - Daisy's friend and colleague, a scientific researcher, martial arts expert, zoologist and mythologist

Max Russell - a soldier and medic in the US army who was once a veterinarian before his current occupation, Gidget's boyfriend

Rooster Welsh - a US general tasked with taking care of the monsters, Snowball and Max's commander

Duke Mutt - a lieutenant in the US army under Rooster's command, Max's "brother" and a skilled mechanic and cook

Chloe Tabby - a secret agent from a special organization tasked with taking care of the monsters, most often their destruction

Pops Basset - the mayor of New York City who wants what is best for the people, often falls prey to scams

Mel Pug - a news reporter who needs a good story to save his career

Buddy Dachshund - Mel's best friend, a cameraman who wants to help save his friend's job

Ozone Sphynx - a secret agent from the same organization as Chloe, is her assigned partner for most missions

Viper - a monstrous serpentine creature capable of spitting acid and is considered very dangerous, was in hibernation until mysteriously awoken during an earthquake
