Lissa is Queen and had finally discovered Rose's whereabouts. She sends an official royal letter demanding Rose return to Court and continue being a sanctioned guardian to a charge. If she does not show within 10 days, she'd be charged and put in a cell.
Rose arrived days after receiving the letter, absolutely furious. She stormed through an open council meeting, raised voice at Lissa shouted she had no right to demand anything of Rose. Rose continued that she had given enough of her life for moroi, put her whole life on the line for them, served them, to have them; have Lissa, treat her like trash and throw her away. Rose continued that she is far better off and more helpful to them continuing to fight her fight by strigoi hunting, paused her tirade Rose removed her top and turned her back to the Queen and Council to reveal her back half covered in molnija. Rose then continued, tracking them down and taking them out, while also living her life, than she would be at Court, lining the walls and protecting a stuffy royal who is already protected by the wards.
Dimitri is shocked from seeing Rose there, her loud outburst in a council meeting, and her marks. If that wasn't enough, he watched Lissa try to tell the guardians to hold her. Zmey walked in and demanded with authority that no one will lay a hand on his child, no one would force her to stay. The group that arrived with Zmey went unnoticed due to his overwhelming presence, until a little 5 year old girl with chocolate brown curly hair and dark brown eyes – who looked so much like his little sister Viktoria - ran to Rose and asked if they could leave, that Dede said that on their way home they could stop and see Babushka, her cousins and Aunties. Rose calmed and gave her attention to her daughter. Rose spoke to her saying that she was finished doing her business there and they could leave and go see her family. With excitement, the little girl ran and jumped into her Aunt's arms. "Aunt Vika, did you hear?! Did you hear what Mummy said? We get to go see Babushka!" Dimitri noticed his sister was there for the first time, and was holding Rose's daughter, his daughter by the look of her.
