TO LOVE EVEN AFTER THE AFTER

The mountain they call the mountain the devil's cave

Why such a name?

Everyone in the small town knew the stories

What happened to people that wandered that mountain that is higher than the rest

It was said that once you go in -you are never seen again....

That people have stopped to help a female in distress and that as she went over to the cliff she disappeared...

Other stories said that cars get messed up when they near that location

Everyone says don't go around there around midnight to 3am

They are the devil's hour

So many tales over one location

Is there truth or just people stirring up fear...

There I stood looking at that mountain

Nothing seemed eerie or terrifying

Yet again it wasn't midnight

Time went by I decided to see for myself

I drove pass it then the car suddenly didn't want to start

I tried again and again

Not even the clicking sound sounded

Then as I looked around I saw a woman

She ran towards me asking for help

Her husband was stuck below their vehicle lost control

As I followed her I lost her

I looked and looked all I could hear was her screams for help

The shadows didn't help in locating her

I tried going down to help her but she was gone

Nothing was there

No one was there

No car

No person

No smoke

Nothing

Was it just in my head...

I went back up

There was my car it's front lights on

Fear or terror ran through my finger tips and it reached behind my spine

Then just as I was coming out of it

I saw lights nearing me

A man lowered his window and said never go down there

I felt fear creep towards me

He said to me look at your clock

What does it read

I looked at him confused what an odd thing to ask he had his own time

I looked and it read 1:56am

The man then said it's the devil's hour

Never stop here and if you do don't get out of your car

Whatever you do don't go chasing after no one

My hands became sweaty I tried to dry them

What he said last had me feeling faint

He said about three decades ago around this hours a couple was heading home when their car lost control and they fell into the cliff

How was I to know that

Shocking

He said that back then fewer cars passed that no one knew that the car had lost control let alone that the couple was still there after the crash

They say the woman's soul won't rest because she loved her husband that much that even after their death she wants him to also be rescued

She had passed on impact but he was stuck because his door got jammed and his seat belt locked

This is actually a true story

My father tells me this story from long ago

He followed the woman and saw no one
