It was Halloween. A scary holiday and yet the most fun time of the year. It was a bright yet grey day, children were pulling pranks onto each other, putting on costumes and of course, collecting and eating candied fruit. All of the adults were setting up decorations around the neighborhood and the herd was the most excited about, because they had the most children among them
At their home, everything was decorated with spiderwebs and leaves and inside the cave. Diego was busy decorating the last corner with a garland made of mice skulls and berries. And while doing so, he was humming a little tune
But then he heard something pass by from behind, only to quickly shrug it off as the breeze blowing inside the cave. Decorating wasn't that easy for him as the garland kept falling down and sighed irritated
"Someone just needs to help me hang that garland"
Diego picked up the garland and tried to hang it up, but then he heard something again. Diego then decided to turn around and take a quick look. Nothing out of the ordinary, but then he turned to his left and saw a tiny figure completely covered spiderwebs and yelled with its two mouths
"Boo!"
Diego shrieked as he accidentally bonked his head against the cave ceiling and rubbed his head while groaning. Then the thing began giggling like crazy. He looked up to see his 7 year old cubs, Lily and Chase, both covered with spiderwebs
"Oh, Daddy!" Lily laughed hard as Chase laughed as well
"You little stinky fur balls" Diego sneered with a grin while cleaning the spiderwebs off them
"You should've seen yourself" Chase giggled as Diego made a silly face at them
"How about you two go help your mother out? Because otherwise there isn't much to celebrate here" Diego suggested as Lily also added
"And to shudder"
The two cubs giggled as they walked out of the cave and let Diego to his job, which still didn't work as good as he hoped
Outside, Manny and Julien were carrying baskets filled with carrots, onions, tomatoes and celery while walking back to the cave. Until the same little human girl and little mammoth came sprinting by and made Manny yell and drop his basket. Only Julien could save his basket just in time
The 7 year old human girl and 6 year old mammoth boy just giggled as it then turned into awkward chuckling
"Zoë and Mitch. Do you mind not making us drop our dinner?" Manny asked annoyed as he put the vegetables back into the basket
"Sorry, Uncle Manny" Zoë snickered, followed by Mitch
"Sorry, Grandpa"
But Manny just frowned while Julien snickered, which made them laugh louder. Zoë giggled as she took out candied berries from her pocket
"Look! We got candy!"
"And we ain't sharing nothing" Mitch smirked as they both sprinted back home. Manny just eyed Julian up and down, judging his parental skills as Julian grinned awkwardly
"So that's how you're raising your son? Not to respect his elders?" Manny sneered as Julian chuckled and assured Manny
"C'mon, man. The little guy's just having fun. That part of parenting will come eventually"
"And how exactly does Peaches think of your parenting?" Manny asked with a raised eyebrow
"She thinks I'm fine! Although she tends to think I'm a little too laidback with some things" Julian admitted as Manny then asked
