- Lucy -
"Lucy, wait!" As soon as I hear Mona's voice I stop walking and turn around. Mona is standing behind me bent over with her hands on her knees, puffing. "Wait..." gasps "I've been running...," gasps "trying to keep up with you...," Mona makes a weird hand gesture as she tries to catch her breath again.
Patiently I wait for her to catch her breath. Meanwhile, the questions are all pouring in. What is it? What does she want to tell me? She has said in the past month, almost nothing to me. Only once a hello when we met in the hallway, and once she asked if I would give her a paper towel when we were both in the restroom. But other than that, she hasn't said anything to me.
I take a good look at her while she is still panting. Her long brown hair is shorter, cut to shoulder length. Nor is it really brown anymore, it has a ginger sheen. She looks good.
"Okay , i'm good," Mona stands back up and looks at me, just as I had just done to her. She smiles small and uncertainly at me. "How are you doing?" She asks softly. I shrug my shoulders.
"I'm fine," I shift the strap of my backpack on my shoulder. "You? Everything okay with you?" I ask, which is a silly question. She looks better than she has in a long time. She looks happy.
"Good good," people walk past us waving at Mona. Mona smiles broadly at them and waves back before looking at me again. "Hey, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to do something? Together?" I look at her in surprise. Of all the things I expected, I didn't expect her to say that.
"Huh?"
"We're all going to Evelynn's house later," Mona explains. Evelynn lancaster is our class leader. She takes care of everyone in the class, if you have been absent she makes sure you have all the papers to write over. If you need to hand off papers to a teacher, you give them to her and she hands them off to the right teacher. And if you are behind somewhere in a class she is happy to tutor. She is everyone's favorite person and also one of the 'popular' people. But not the mean stereotype, she is very sweet. And she has organized something to do together every month. And everyone is welcome then. Last month they went pizza baking and before that they went laser shooting.
"And who is 'we'?" I ask. We could be anyone. We can be the whole class, the whole year, or a few specific people.
"Uhm a few boys from our class, Marthe and the others from my group," Mona looks at me cautiously. "And Courtney," I look at her in surprise. "We were wondering if you wanted to go with us?" Now I look at her like she has gone crazy.
"Courtney?" I ask. The name feels weird to say. Maybe because I haven't said her name in months. Because I haven't heard her name in months. Because I haven't heard her for months.
"Yes Courtney goes with me and my friends. We're going bowling," Mona looks at me expectantly. Uncomfortably, I look down at my feet.
"Uhm i don't know," I mutter. "I have things to do," I lie. I look up at Mona.
"Oh," she says surprised. "What then?"
"I'm going for a walk," I say honestly. And I am. I'm going for a walk. The walk I do every day. The walk from school to Riley's house and then to my house.
Mona's smile immediately goes away, and she gets a worried frown on her face. She takes a step forward and holds out her arm to me.
"Lucy-" she stops and lets her hand fall as I take a step back so she can't touch me. "This is not healthy," she looks at me cautiously. "This really isn't healthy-" she wants to say more but is interrupted.
"Hey Mona!" Evelynn comes up next to Mona and enthusiastically puts her arm around Mona, then she looks at me and her smile slips a little. "And Lucy," she says a little less enthusiastically. She looks back at Mona. "Did you ask her?"
"Yes," Mona nods and looks at me with concern. "But Lucy already has other plans," Evelynn doesn't look disappointed at all, she looks a little happier.
"Oh what a shame," she doesn't mean it. "Well, maybe next time then?" She looks at me questioningly but doesn't even wait for an answer before turning back to Mona. "Come we are going to leave," she starts to pull Mona away from me.
Mona looks behind her and waves to me.
"I'll talk to you later," she says, but she doesn't seem to believe her words. And I don't believe them either.
I turn around, walk out of the school and begin my walk.
I said Evelynn was sweet, and she is. She is sweet to everyone but me. Because I'm the one person that ruins the whole mood with everyone.
I'm just that person that's just there. The negative energy person, nobody really wants to be around. But everybody does pitty her.
But I honestly don't care much about that.
I just want to do my daily walk.

A/N: i really don't know what to write in Lucy's povs. Like i already turned her in a totally different person then she was in my head.
She is obviously depressed. But like idk she has to have the "i don't care what people think about me" attitude but i feel like she more has the "i'm lonely and care too much about everyone" vibe. That wasn't supossed to happen.
Anyway yeah that was this chapter.
Reminder : there are always people who care even when it feels like they don't <3
