y/n

I loved him.

And for the first time ever I didn't feel disappointed in myself for doing so.

Walking towards the front of the school gate hand in hand with him felt good, I looked over at Billy and I could see him smiling. It wasn't his usual smirk, he was smiling happily with me by his side.

"I love you Y/N" Billy smiled

He had been saying those words on a daily basis and I expected them to lose it's meaning after a few weeks but they didn't. Billy showed me in many ways that he had changed, he showed me that he cared.

I had not spoken to Eddie for a few weeks but I could see him send glances my way, he wanted to talk to me but I knew that I was not ready yet.

Graduation was coming up and spent most of the remaining days studying for the exams, I had finally convinced Billy to actually start learning also. At first he said that he did not mind having to spent another year here but after clearing up that I did not intend to redo the year he opened up his books.

Neil hadn't been entirely supportive of our relationship but somehow Carol and Max were able to change his mind. Billy was not planning to stay here for long after graduation, he had hated this shitty town when he first set foot in it.

My parents weren't fully on board either at first, they had seen me hurt this past year because of him but when Billy had talked to both of them they did not mind anymore.

We both had made a lot of progress but it was sometimes hard for Billy to keep his cool.

"I'm fucking telling you he wants to fuck you." Billy sighed

"We are going to work on our fucking chemistry project." I said annoyed by Billy's behavior.

---

It was now a week before graduation and I knew that I had to speak with Eddie, I had told Billy that I wanted to talk to him one last time before leaving Hawkins and he agreed.

There were no real lessons anymore, the teachers were busy grading all the test and for the students the remaining hours were mostly clearing everything up.

When classes had ended Carol was ready to drag me to town to get dresses for the grad party but I had someone to talk to first. I waited by Eddie's motor knowing that he'd come this way eventually.

"Y/N?" I heard him from behind me.

I turned around to look at him, he seemed confused but happy to see me.

"Listen I am so sorry for what happened-" He started but I cut him off.

"Let's go somewhere a bit more private to talk." I said

We started walking to the bench behind the school where Eddie often went to smoke. As we both took a seat he started talking again.

"I missed talking to you." He said while looking down.

I knew that I wanted to talk to Eddie but now sitting here I didn't know what to say.

"I should have never lied to you I sho-" I cut him off again.

"You're right, you shouldn't have lied to me." I sighed

"You should have let me make my own decisions." I added

"For what it's worth I really thought you were making the wrong choice." He uttered

"You were my friend Eddie, I trusted you, and you used my trust." I said as I could start to feel my feelings of rage coming out.
