Chapter 12
Kat’s POV-
As we were all sitting around the table, we made the realization that Alyssa has been nowhere to be seen during this whole predicament. So we decided to split up and search for her and have her help us answer the last clue to the mystery and save Bela. I went to the strip club where Alyssa works to look for her, Harry is checking her apartment. Cade is checking Starbucks. If we can’t separately find her in any of those places, then we have to meet up as a team and search for her through town. As desperately we need to find Bela, we need all the help we can get. Plus, we can’t handle two missing people at once. So we set out for Alyssa first since she is an easier target.
Harry’s POV-
I, being the most upset was only set to check for her in her apartment directly above us so I wouldn’t have to stray far. I walked up the very few steps and knocked on Alyssa’s door very loudly if I may say. No Answer. Then I started repeatedly pounding my fists on her door for about two minutes straight. Still no answer. This time, I did the same thing only screamed her name at the top of my lungs and started kicking the door. Absolutely no answer. Finally, I decided to check and see if she left it unlocked and just to my luck, it was open. I walked in to see her living room all neat and tidy and completely empty, same for the dining room, closets, and bathrooms. The only place I hadn’t checked yet was her bedroom. I walked up to the barely cracked open door, held the handle so the door wouldn’t open yet, and knocked. No answer. That was my cue to go in. I walked in and personal closet and personal bathroom the same way the rest of the apartment was. Her bedroom was absolutely perfect. I even checked under her bed just in case. Still no show. As I did one last quick sweep of her little apartment to make absolutely sure she wasn’t here, I realized I had been searching for 35 minutes. I finally headed back down to Cade and Kat’s apartment to wait for them to return as well.
Cade’s POV-
I didn’t even waste my time with my car and decided to let Kat use it. I got to Starbucks in record time as my adrenaline was pumping and I straight up sprinted there without a break or a second thought. I walked in and there was a new cashier alone at the front and 4 customers seated quietly partaking in their personal business. I walked up to the cashier whose name was Jen. “Hi Jen, I’m Cade, I was wondering if Alyssa was here.” I stated trying to stay and sound calm all at the same time. “No, sorry. She left about three hours ago when her shift ended.” Jen said. I quietly thanked her with a nod of my head and walked back out and slowly took as much time as possible to get back. As I was walking up to my door a thought a popped into my mind that made me realize the answer to every question we had. I saw Harry slumped in a chair alone in my apartment so that indicated that Kat wasn’t back yet. When she gets back, I have to explain everything I know now to them.
Kat’s POV-
I sped down many twisting and winding roads trying to reach my destination as fast as possible. I got there in about 10 minutes even though it was about 20-25 minutes to originally to get there depending on traffic. I, of course broke every driving law and then some doing this. I ran in without thinking about what to do or say and looked all around. She wasn’t on stage or the floor. I spotted someone who worked here or could’ve been the manager or something and I approached him. “Excuse me sir, do you know where the manager is?” I asked. “You’re speaking to him.” He said. He was actually very sweet considering the fact he is the manager of a strip club. “Well, does Alyssa happen to be here right now?” I asked. “Yes, she for some reason went into the basement even though she doesn’t have a shift tonight. Go ahead and go on down.” He said with a genuine smile. It was sort of comforting to me. I walked down to the basement and just walked straight through the door and what I saw nearly made me eyes pop out of my head.
