Moving In

I woke up on Rika's couch, I'm glad it wasn't the street again. Maybe I should stop bothering about being a hindrance to her and just start staying here.
I sat up and smiled slightly, for the first time, I was actually sort of happy. I still have to get my stuff off the street, though, if I can find it, that is.
A few minutes later, Rika came down the stairs and grinned when she saw me.
"Y/N, what do you wanna do today?"
"Eh? Me?"
What does she mean? Is she seriously asking me? I'm actually surprised.
"Well, you're here now, aren't you? You may as well stay, like I said before. Don't worry, I don't think you'll be bad to have around! Let's go get your stuff on the street, shall we?"
"Really? Well, I can't argue with that anymore. Let's go find it."
We both left the house and eventually found my mattress, penlight, and posters together. I'm surprised nobody stole it, if I'm honest.
"So, this is yours?"
"Yup, why?"
"That penlight, and the posters, they're from D4FES, you kept those?"
"Well, yeah, I was gonna sell them, but since I met you, and well, you're on one of them, I may aswell keep it."
She looked at me with a big grin on her face. This was the happiest I'd seen her.
"Th-That's... so thoughtful of you... Thank you, Y/N!"
It looked like a tear started welling up in her right eye.
"Rika-Chan, are you crying?!"
"N-No!"
"OK, then."
I picked up the posters and penlight, and Rika helped me take the mattress back to her house, I was very grateful for her. Even though I'd only known her for a few weeks, if that.

When we got to her house, we managed to squeeze the mattress through the door and into her main room.
"So, Y/N, which room do you want?"
"Huh?"
She dropped the mattress on the floor and looked at me.
"Which room do you wanna stay in?"
"I'd rather not choose myself, you can decide."
"Hmmm, you can have the spare bedroom, is that OK?"
"If you're fine with it."
"Yay!"
She really was always full of energy.

"Hey, Y/N, wana go to a party with me and the rest of Merm4id?"
"Well, I'm sure they wouldn't want me around since I'm not really close with any, including you."
Rika's face saddened slightly.
"Well, I think we're getting closer, and I'm sure the girls would enjoy having you around!"
I laughed awkwardly, I doubt it.
"Fine, I guess."
"Yay!"
"When is it anyway?"
"Later tonight, around 2 - 3am!"
"Okay, is there a bar?"
"Mhm!"
She really is fun to be around.
