In the morning, I woke up in bed with Rika for once and hoisted myself up. Today was a new day, well, so was yesterday and the day before. But now I have something to look forward to.
I poured myself some cereal in Rika's fridge and added some milk to it.
It tasted delicious, Rika truly is someone I have to be thankful for.

"G'morning, Y/N!"
Rika sleepily walked down the stairs. She looked pretty cute in what she was wearing.
"Could you please pour me a bowl?"
"Sure, I don't mind."
"Thanks."
Rika yawned, and my eyes were captivated on her. Every aspect of her was amazing.
Rika sat down next to me and hugged me. It was nice.
"Thank you, Rika, you're a truly wonderful girlfriend!"
I felt so happy. Remembering how I felt a few months ago, and me not even wanting to live, it all feels so silly now. Maybe I should stop drinking so much, too. Now I have something, no, someone, to spend my time on, I don't need alcohol all the time.

My life just repeats itself everyday, although the only reason I keep living it is because I hope things will get better eventually, even if I have nothing atleast there's that hope I guess even though I don't see it happening anytime soon. That's how I used to think. Rika completely changed that, with her bright smiles, endless energy, and amazing personality, she helped me get back on my feet when nobody else would.

"Eh? What's this? It's a letter for you!"
Rika handed me an envelope, I have no idea what it's for, though.

My eyes widened, and I began to tear up a little.
"Y/N? What does it say?"
"I-I... A job I applied for ages ago got back to me, and they have an open position!"
"That's great! I'm so happy for you!"
Rika hugged me again, and I hugged her back.
"Y/N! We gotta celebrate with Marika and the others! I'll go ask them if we can throw a special private concert just for you!"
"Th-That's unnecessary..."
"We need to celebrate! Oh, that reminds me, you keep wearing the same 3 suits every day, we should go buy some more clothes for you!"
"Okay, I guess..."
Waking up next to a hot girl, having a nice breakfast, getting that job, buying new clothes, AND getting a private Merm4id concert?! This day is amazing!

"Congrats, Y/N!" Marika called out to me, we arrived at the meeting place a little early. It was at a small, auditorium sized club. They'd rented it out for the night just for me, which was nice.
Rika clung onto my arm and pulled me in.
"So the two of you are dating, huh?"
"Mhm! I'm so glad we are!" Rika squeezed my arm tighter. It felt like it would pop off.
"Oh, that reminds me, I've been talking to someone lately, too! I'm a little scared to tell them how I feel, though..."
My eyes lit up with determination. Marika must succeed.
"Do it, Marika. No matter the outcome, at least you aren't stressing over what would've happened, and instead, you're thinking about what did happen."
Marika smiled at me.
"Thanks, Y/N, you're very kind!"
"Don't worry about it! I'm sure it'll go well!"
She nodded as the three of us entered the building to see Saori and Dalia.
"Hey guys! Wait, Rika, you're dating Y/N?" Saori looked puzzled.
"Yes! I am!" Rika jumped into the air with a smile.
"I'm surprised he can put up with you sometimes!" Saori laughed, and I couldn't help but laugh a bit, too.
"Anyway, shouldn't we get this performance started?" Dalia asked.
Rika grabbed my arm again and lifted it in the air.
"Y/N! It's an exclusive performance just for you! Enjoy it, OK?"
"I will!"
The four of them went to a backstage area that I couldn't see, and I took a seat at the bar area the club had. It wasn't occupied.
It's funny to think how much my life has changed in only a few months, this time 5 months ago, I was poor and drank my sorrows away, but now, I drink to enjoy it, and I have a super cute girlfriend too.
I smirked slightly as I reached in my pocket and pulled out the D4fes penlight, Rika thought I'd sold it, but I decided to keep it so I could remember the first time we met.
