Jaces POV
"What are they gonna do now?" Crystal asked. I shrugged. "I don't know. I doubt Harlow will continue being the Mad Magician now. I just hope that Carter doesn't stop being the Ruff Ranger" I said. Crystal frowned. "I'm sure they'll be ok. Its not our place though. We have to back off and give them some space. If they need to talk to us, they'll come to us" Crystal said. I smiled softly. "Yeah, you're right" I agreed. She pulled me into her and kissed me. "I'm glad you're ok. You used a lot of magic for that stunt" she said. "Nothing a Wolf couldn't handle" I shrugged. She smiled and rolled her eyes. "Come on you big dummy. Ill drive you to your class" she said.

Harlow's POV
I woke up when Carter was still sleeping. I want to kill myself for what I did. I did it for her, but now she hates me. I slowly got out of bed and made my way to the living room. Kai looked over at me. We stared at each other for a moment before I went to sit down. I sat on the opposite end of the couch. "You two were pretty loud with the yelling" she said finally. I didn't look at her. I cant bare to see her. To see the look of anger she must have. I didn't speak. "Are you two ok?" She asked. I hesitated. "I don't know" I said quietly. There was a short silence. "Thank you. For handling my ex. I don't really mind what you did to him" she said with a short laugh. I glanced at her and she smiled at me. "What do I do Kaida? Carter hates me. I want to kill myself now" I said. "Carter doesn't hate you. She's just upset that the person she loves did this and lied to her about it" she said. I turned away. "Harlow, Carter loves you. I know it must feel like the end of the world right now, but you cant kill yourself. One of the reasons she's so upset is because you voluntarily hurt yourself to do all that." She said. I touched my neck and softly ran my fingers over my stinging red veins. "How do I come back from this?" I asked, looking at her. She sighed. "Its not gonna be the same as before, but you can fix it. You just have to show her that she can trust you again. Show her that you're worth keeping around." She said. "But what if... I'm not" I looked down. Kaida took a deep breath. I looked up at her. She looks sad. "Don't say that. Please. You have to fix it." She said. She's tearing up. "Kaida... are you ok?" I asked. She wiped her eyes. "I'm fine. Its just... I've already lost two parents. I don't need to lose another one" she said. I sighed. "Kai. I will always be here for you. Even if Carter ships me out. I'm not gonna leave you" I assured her. She nodded and wiped her tear. "I know... but you're gonna make sure she doesn't ship you out. You're gonna fix it. So help me god, you're gonna fix it" she hissed. She groaned. "Look what you did. Now I have a snake tongue again!" She whined. I chuckled. "Sorry" I said. We smiled. When Kaida gets emotional, her words come out in a hiss because of her snake tongue. She stood up. "I know you can do it mom" she said, and she left. I think I might have an idea for Carter and I's date.

Carters POV
I woke up and Harlow was gone. I didn't move for a moment and suddenly got anxious. What if she went back out? What if Jace and I didn't really stop her? I shot out of bed and tripped. I got up, hit my ankle on the bed frame, and then jumped up and down holding my ankle. I jumped up and landed on my tail making me squeal and fall back on the bed. I calmed my breathing and sat up. What a way to start the morning. I stood up and rushed to the kitchen. She's not here. There's a note from Kai on the counter saying she wasnt gonna be home tonight. I pulled out my phone and immediately called Harlow. The front door opened and I looked up. Harlow came in and put a plastic bag on the counter. She looked at her phone and hung up the call. "Everything ok?" She asked. "You scared me" I exhaled. She frowned. "I'm sorry. I just had to go get something for our date" she said. "Oh" I said. There was a short silence. "You're not in heat right?" She asked. I shook my head. "Perfect. Then I have a great idea." She smiled. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Don't worry about it. Its a surprise. You'll love it. I promise" she said. I smiled slightly. "Ok" I said. She took in my appearance. "Did you just wake up?" She asked. I nodded. "Did you fall?" She asked looking at my ankle that now has a red mark on it. That's gonna bruise. "Yeah" I sighed. She went to the freezer and pulled out an ice pack. She wrapped it in a towel and handed it to me. I smiled and took it. "Thanks" I said.

Harlow's POV
"Why am I blindfolded?" Carter asked. "Cause its a surprise" I said. I carried her up the stairs and then put her down. I lead her by the hand. "Are we on the third floor? Why are we on the third floor?" She asked. "You'll see" I said. I walked into my setup at our indoor pool. "Ready?" I asked. She nodded. I went behind her and took off her blindfold. She was taken back. The lights were dimmed and only the night sky crept through the windows. There was a dim light inside the pool and rose petals scattered across the floor. "I assume you're sweeping that up cause I'm not doing it" she said. I frowned and glared at her. She smiled. "I'm kidding. Its wonderful. Thank you" she said. I took her hand and pulled her to the other side of the pool. We sat down and I pushed a box to her. She raised an eyebrow and opened it. She smiled. "You got take out? You hate take out" she said with a laugh. I shrugged. "You dont" I said. She smiled. I poured her some wine. "So why the pool?" She asked. I smirked but didn't answer. She squinted at me in suspicion but let it go as we ate.

I finished eating and stood up. "What are you doing?" She asked. I unbuttoned my shirt and slipped it off my shoulders. "Going for a swim" I said. She blushed hard. "Care to join me?" I asked taking my pants off. "I... uh..." she stuttered. I gestured behind her to the privacy partition. "You brought my bathing suit up here?" She asked. "Are you joining me or not?" I asked crossing my arms. She got up immediately and went to change. I got in the pool and watched Carters shadow as she changed. She came around in her bathing suit and stepped into the pool. "You turned the heater on?" She asked. I nodded. She swam up to me and I wrapped my arms around her waist. She rested her hands on my collarbone. "This is a very relaxing date. Surprising, coming from you" she said. I smiled and rolled my eyes. My eyes met hers. "Baby, I need you to know that I will never do anything to make you upset again. Now you know though, that I really would burn the whole world for you" I said. She stared at me with a glimmer in her eye. "I know that babe. And I do appreciate it. But burning the world doesn't do any good if I'm made of ice." She said. I understood her metaphor... but that was so weird. "That was really cringy" I whispered. She laughed and it echoed through the room. I smiled. "But I understand. Do you forgive me?" I asked. She wrapped her arms around my neck and got closer so that our faces were inches apart. "I forgive you" she smiled. I smiled back and filled the gap with a kiss.

She ran her hand into my hair and I gently pressed her against the side of the pool. We pulled away and she ran her fingers through my hair. I reached behind her and grabbed something. "I have one more thing for you" I said. "Hmm?" She asked tilting her head. I brought the small black box in front of her. Her eyes widened. "Carter Jackson, will you marry me?" I asked opening it. Her jaw dropped and she just stared at it in shock for a while. I glanced around the room as the air got thick while I waited for an answer. "Carter?" I asked. She's frozen. She snapped out of her trance. "Yes" she said with a smile. I smiled and hugged her. She kissed me and I pulled back to put the ring on her finger. She stared at it with a smile and looked up at me. I pulled her into me and kissed her. She gladly kissed back and wrapped her arms around me. We stood there softly making out for a moment and then pulled back for air. "So are you gonna fuck me in the pool or are we going downstairs?" She asked. I chuckled. "I'm not leaving so soon" I said, kissing her neck.
