Present Day
Location: En route to Hotel, Los Angeles, CA
"That was so fun!" Jerome squealed.
Sigils nodded in agreement. "I know, especially all the mall's we went to... "
"Remember how we played Minecraft in the mall?" biffle said
"Yeah! And how we wore among us costume, "zud said
"Yea and also when we told henwy to not run as the floor was slippery but he didn't listen to us and he ran but he slipped and fell down-"jerome said and started to laugh and the others to accept Henwy, who turned bright red and stuck his tongue out at Jerome.
"Where should we go next?"jerome asked
"We should go to the gym next! and record a regulars video..."sigils said
Everyone nodded in agreement, excitement filling the air.
But the only one who didn't seem thrilled was Henwy. "Henwy, are you okay? You don't seem happy about something," Nico commented.
Henwy seemed to be worried about something else. "I think someone's following us." He whispered.
"What? Where?" Jerome asked, turning around.
"Don't look," Henwy hissed. "I don't know– they've been wherever we've been."
"It could just be coincidence you know," Zud commented.
"Yeah, but..." how much am I willing to bet those are spies? Sigils didn't finish the sentence aloud. The others didn't need to know. Not yet. But they had been so perfectly kept in secret, not a word about their departure. Unless the mind reading girl found out about our mission. But we had been hiding for 3 years now...unless they only found out recently? Or- I don't know...
Nico glared at Sigils. "But what?"
Sigils shrugged. "Stalkers? Creepy people?"
"Wait who-" Biffle looked behind him. There weren't many people behind them, walking down this obscure street. But there were four people who seemed to be shadowing them, or at least directly behind them.
Three boys and a girl, who were all wearing face masks, gray overall with navy blue T-shirts, and white shoes.
White shoes with the rebellion logo on it.
Nobody knew...how...there's no way that that's the rebellion logo, it can't be, thought Sigils. No, I'm dreaming. This is one of my nightmares...
But Biffle's grasping on tightly to Sigils's shoulder told him otherwise. Biffle's grip, when he was terrified, was incredibly tight. And Sigils felt that pain. "Biffle let me go," Sigils whispered. Biffle let go, but panic was in his eyes.
The other Regulars glanced at Sigils, with a worried look. "Do we run?" Nico whispered.
Sigils shook his head. "No, Hal has superspeed. We wouldn't be able to."
Zud and Jerome were confused. "What are you guys talking about?"
Sigils ignored them. "Walk into that narrow alleyway, So no one can see this."
Zud and Jerome were hesitant but compliant. However they were evidently confused, while the other Regulars knew exactly what was going to happen. It was time.
As soon as their group went into the tiny alleyway, the four rebels followed them. Sigils turned around and faced their pursuers. "Timi, Hal. Timi and Hal's friends." Sigils nodded towards each of them as he said their names..
One of the rebels sneered and mimicked Sigils's movements. "Sigils, Biffle. Sigils and Biffle's friends."
"What do you want?" Sigils demanded.
"You know what we want," the person whom Sigils called Timi snickered. "No point in lying, small man. Just drop this mission, surrender to the rebellion, and everyone will be happy."
"Never."
"Well you leave us no choice."
In the small alleyway was a dumpster, which had scraps of metal. Timi picked up one and yeeted it at the Regulars.
And in response, Sigils made an invisible barrier in between them and the rebels, the scrap metal making a thump as it hit the ground.
"RUN!" Biffle shouted, and the Regulars, along with Jerome and Zud, sprinted away, Jerome and Zud looking on in shock at the scene before them, and what was happening in general.
"You can't run forever!" One of the rebels called out as they fled.
As soon as they had made quite a distance away from the alleyway, Henwy swiftly made a mirage of their group going in a different direction. Zud and Jerome looked on with wide-open eyes as a duplicate of themselves walked away. "I'm sorry, what's happening?" Zud asked, looking back and forth from their copies and himself.
"Quick, let's get back to the hotel before they notice that those are illusions," Henwy said.
"Okay- what- how- when-where- why-" Zud looked at the regulars with shock.
Jerome's jaw was dropped. "WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?!"
"Yeah," Nico said, but he couldn't withhold the smile. "We've got powers."
"Long story," Biffle added. "But Henwy's right, we need to get out of here."
"But-" Jerome was cutted off.
"No time to talk! WALK CASUALLY!" Sigils hissed and whispered the last two words a bit louder so the others will hear.
And so the regulars + Zud and Jerome walked carefully away, back to the hotel....
