Chapter 8

Present Day

Location: Regulars Secret Base(ment), City Unknown

"And this is our special little roundtable!" Biffle announced, pushing a button. A table slowly rose from the ground.

"Woah! How'd you do that?" Jerome asked, amazed. The tour that had been going on for at least an hour was almost finished.

"Well...technology"biffle replied smiling..

"You guys have much advanced technology than we do!"zud exclaimed..

"Mhm..!!"henwy hummed a bit of proud in his face.

"It took a while for us to build it though," Nico commented.

"You built this?" Jerome's jaw dropped.

"Yep.."biffle said

"This is sick!!"zud excalimed..

"C'mon guys! You can sit around it," Biffle invited, sitting on one of the chairs.Everyone else followed his example and sat on one of the chairs on the table. Josie the dog climbed onto Nico's lap.

"Okay, back to the main issue now," said Sigils. "How are we gonna figure out what your powers are?"

Henwy nodded. "I mean, if you don't learn your powers from your family, the only other way is in a life-or-death situation."

"I have an idea," said Nico. "What if we simulate the life-or-death scenario?"

"How?" Biffle asked.

"I mean we could use our powers-"

Biffle stared as Nico's cheeks turned pink. "I mean, you could help a little bit by being like, moral support?"

"Oh yeah! Biffle I don't think we know what your power is,"Jerome added.

Biffle slumped in his chair. "I don't wanna talk about it."

"Why not?" Jerome asked as Zud, who was looking around in awe, turned his attention to Biffle.

"Its just- my power is a lame one not soo useful"biffle said as he let out a deep sigh..

"C'mon it can't be lame...you already have a broken power when it comes to winning against sigils the biffle luck-"zud said.

Biffle went still as the rest of the Regulars fell silent.

Zud was confused. "Did I say something wrong?"

"Moving on," Henwy tried to steer the conversation away from the topic of Biffle's powers. "How else can we discover your powers?

'But I wanna know what Biffle's power is," Jerome insisted.

The regulars tried avoiding the question said by the two but at the end they decided to tell them about it...

"Soo...its nothing like he said it's not a lame power and his power can be really useful in some situations..."sigils started looking at his friend who was staring blankly at the wall..

"Then why is he saying that??"zud asked

"He just thinks that it's lame i don't know why he thinks that"sigils replied..

"Soo whats his power???"jerome asked

"Well what zud said"henwy said as jerome looked at zud..

"What did i say??"zud asked confused

"Biffle luck," Nico said as Zud and Jerome looked at each other...then burst out..

"AND HE SAYS HIS POWER IS LAME!!!??"zud shouted as the others flinch and biffle came back to his senses...

"BIFFLE HAVE YOU GONE MAD THAT'S A BROKEN POWER"jerome said looking at biffle as biffle smiled...

"You guys don't need to lie you know.."biffle said..

"AUSTIN THIS POWER IS SERIOUSLY A BROKEN POWER!!"zud shouted...as biffle smiled again..

"Thanks guys"biffle said...

"A quick question is your power called biffle luck or??"jerome asked..

"Oh no its called..subconscious telekinetic probability manipulation"biffle said as zud and jerome mouth's went wide open..

"Subconscious telekineti- what!! You know we'll just call it biffle luck"zud said as the regulars laughed...

"Well...now let's go back it must be late at night now"nico said as they all agreed and went outside of the basement.

It was, in fact, dark by the time the group went outside. The moon was brightly shining in the night sky and a few stars were twinkling.

"I miss home," Nico whispered, looking up at the night sky.

Biffle kept his hand on Nico's shoulder as Nico looked at biffle.

"Don't worry everything's gonna be alright soon...we all miss our home's too and....your cousin is safe I'm sure.."biffle said as nico smiled...

"What are you guys doing back there c'mon lets go back"sigils called from behind..

"Ya we're coming!!" Biffle called out.

"So let's go??" Biffle asked to nico.

"Ya.."Nico said as they both went back inside.

But they didn't realize someone else was watching them very closely...
