                                       Y/N's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
crunch. crunch. crunch. I was eating some chips with my cheeseburger. Me and Katie were at the mall food court after my detention this Sunday, and we were talking about random things. Who likes us, who doesn't like us, and how we're gonna get back at the people who don't like us. Y'know, normal girl things.
"Okay, so. I was thinking we could get back at Kaley, by putting a mouse in her backpack." I exclaimed with a small smile on my face. Revenge sure is sweet. "That could work..." she mumbled, sitting back in her seat, tapping her chin to sign she was thinking.
I got lost in thought. I never thought that Katie would get a boyfriend before me. Especially a good looking one. I mean, he's kinda perfect. He's tall, he plays baseball, and did I mention good looking? He has a cute voice. And beautiful eye-. I cut myself off. Huh, kind of seems familiar. Who has those exact same traits? Wait-
I was snapped out of my trance by the sound of Katie snapping her fingers, saying she had the perfect scheme. "I loved your idea, but where are we gonna get a mouse? I mean, even if we were to find one, I don't think either of us would pick it up." She explained, pausing in case I had an idea in plan. Which I didn't.
"Okay, so what's your plan? I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well, I was thinking that we could just go up to her, and start beating her as-" she started, but soon got cut off by a different voice. "Hey Kat, I was wondering if you and y/n would like to come watch me and my boys play baseball tomorrow after school?" I looked up at the person who was talking, which was revealed to be a nervous looking Phillips.
Katie's eyes widened, and so did mine. She looked at me with a look that said 'I don't wanna go, but I wanna be nice'. I nodded in response. She looked back up at him with an obviously forced smile and said, "sure, we'd love to go watch.... Baseball." She said through her gritted teeth.
He looked at her, an apparent wave of relief washing over him. "Great, come to the Sandlot at 5:00, that's when we start, and we usually end at about 12:00." He said casually. Both mine and Katie's eyes widened even more. "S-seven hours?...." She asked, looking terrified. "......of baseball?" I continued for her, looking just as terrified.
"Yeah, but we're probably gonna go to a gas station that's open 24/7. Then we usually go to the park and eat our snacks we bought. So, we might get home at 2:00" he said as if it were obvious. "A.M!?!?" I yelled loud enough for everyone in the food court to hear. They all turned to look at us, like we were lunatics. "Sorry everyone! She didn't mean to yell! We're doing just fine!" Katie told everyone, and they went back to chatting and eating with their families. "Barely.." I mumbled under my breath.
Katie kicked me under the table, silently saying, 'please shut up'. ".....ow...." I mouthed to her, and she just rolled her eyes. "Yeah, a.m, is that okay?" He asked again. "Yeah, totally. That's- that's great. Just. Great." Katie said, her forced smile coming back.
"Okay, well I'll see you guys later!" He said to us, walking off. "Yeah! See ya'!" Katie smiled after him. When she turned back, all she saw was my deadpanned face. Making her smile drop, and chuckle nervously. "Really?" I asked, still deadpanning. "Yes! I mean, what was I supposed to say? 'No sorry, me and y/n absolutely hate baseball, even though we know you live for it.'?"
"Exactly" I said taking one last sip of my water. "Well, it can't be that bad. We should go home, and watch some baseball cassettes! Maybe that'll peak our interest." She said hopefully. "Okay, my dad has some cassettes of when he was in baseball. We could go over to mine after this?" I said, reminiscing about the times when my dad tried to tell stories of his old baseball games.
