"I will never regret you or say I wish I'd never met you. Because once upon a time you were exactly what I needed." -Bob Marley
Nyx heard her phone ring non-stop, she didn't even have to look at the caller ID anymore, she knew who it was. Though, she did answer when Sam called, she set ringtones for each contact.
She walked to the local bar, she needed to clear her head, and to drink. Again, her phone was ringing, this time it was Cas calling, so she answered it.
"Hey Cassi Cas. What's up?" She answered.
"Nyx, where are you?" The angel asked.
"A top secret mission." She replied.
"Where is this mission? Do you need backup?" He asked, genuinely concerned.
"No Cas, but I won't say no to a friend." She said with a sigh, smiling at the angel and his habit of taking things literally.
"What is the location?" Cas asked.
Nyx told him and he walked in, and sat down next to her.
"So what brings you to the bar?" Nyx asked.
"You said you were on a top secret mission." Cas replied.
"Just don't drink the bar." Nyx laughed.
"I drank a liquor store... Once." Cas said.
"Cas, I know. I'm messing with you." Nyx said with a laugh. "I heard, though I didn't think it was true at the time."
It was a few hours later, when Cas helped Nyx to the room.
"There you are!" Came Dean's voice, relief evident in his tone. "Are you drunk?"
"It's possible." Nyx said, an icy tone to her voice, which matched the look she gave Dean.
"She might have drank copious amounts of alcohol." Cas said, helping Nyx to a bed.
Dean sighed. Nyx got up, and grabbed her favorite shirt from her bag, walked into the bathroom and changed. Dean heard her bumping into walls and the door while trying to change, Cas left to find Sam, who was out looking for Nyx, and Dean went to help her. He knocked on the door.
"Speak if you must." Came Nyx's reply.
"Let me help you so you don't end up with a concussion." Dean said.
"Fine!" Nyx said in frustration, cursing her jeans and death glaring them. Dean opened the door, and laughed at her.
"Struggling hard, or hardly struggling?" Dean said, trying to get control of his laughter.
"Screw you Dean." Nyx said, and turned her glare at him.
Nyx was one again wearing the long sleeved Heavy Metal Shop shirt. Dean loved the shirt on her, but he didn't tell her. He walked her to his bed, helped her lay down, gave her some water and Tylenol, and then covered her up. She was half asleep when he was done, he turned to walk away, but her hand holding his stopped him. They looked at each other.
"Lay with me?" Nyx whispered.
Dean wanted to with every fiber of his being, but he just shook his head no, and moved her hand from his, "You'd be even more pissed at me if I did." And he walked to the couch.
Nyx was seconds from sleep, "I love you Dean" she whispered, and she was zonked, snuggled in his bed, in her favorite shirt of his. His breathing stopped, his heart skipped at those four words. He didn't think she meant them that way, she said it to him all the time growing up, but that surge of hope that she meant them how he wanted, was overwhelming, and it scared him. He knew she was pissed, and he remembered that she said she didn't want to see him, so he chalked it up to her saying it out of habit. He tried to be okay with it, but he wasn't.
