Eddy looked up, his eyes fixated on the ceiling fan's rotating movements, remembering having a similar one in his own bedroom as a kid, before aircon was common even in this hot country. Not in his part of the neighbourhood at least, where all the welfies gathered living.
Summercamp for welfie kids was still the same though. Actually, he should be grateful there even was a ceiling fan.Two flies buzzed loudly, chasing each other, excitedly, fluttering around in a holy mess, as if they were doing some mating ritual. Eddy wondered if flies did that for real?
Seconds later both of them landed on one of the spinning blades. Eddy's eyes followed, fixated again, only making him dizzy after a couple minutes this time.Brett's light snores made him feel kind of uneasy. There was something weird and nasty going on in his stomach. A sucking feeling tightening his muscles.
He was thinking about that girl next door. Medika.
She turned up with her family almost two weeks ago, and she changed everything.
Her skin, almost black, the way her dress snugged her lovely ass every time she bent over to take a closer look at something, or tie her shoe laces or...
Medika wore the same dress the whole summer, her mother couldn't be bothered washing their clothes those weeks staying by the lake, house chores during summer holidays was where she drew the line.
And Medika would get her ass dirty from sitting in the grass, or on the jetty, dangling her feet over the water surface, or from sitting on the dirty floor where drunk parents were dancing late nights if someone could be bothered to bring a ghetto blaster up there.By the lake, vacation, everything was different.
And something very different was giving Eddy a sucking feeling in his stomach right now. That girl.... that evening, when she giggled and undressed herself, showed herself naked to him. Brett wasn't there, it was just the two of them. She grabbed his hand, lead him towards the tree, THAT tree, where he used to be with Brett, when they wanted no one's eyes on them, it was THEIR spot, but she didn't care, and he didn't care. Brett was probably inside their little cabin, reading some dull cartoons or something, while as he, Eddy, was out there, living what seemed much more important right there and then. She tugged the redflowered dress over her head, and Eddy's heart was racing as he noticed she was all naked underneath. His heart was pounding, he was sure she could see it under his shirt.
She was the weirdest and most beatiful thing he'd ever seen.
He'd even forgotten how to breathe. How to move. Which was probably a good thing, because he wanted to touch her, he wanted to touch her everywhere.
He ran back inside, tried to hide his face and all his storming feelings, but he could tell from their faces, Carrie and Jon looking up as he entered, they knew.
Terrified Brett could also tell from his heavy breathing, he changed his mind and ran out again, took the path from the other side of the cabin, fearing he might bump into her, he had to throw himself into the lake, just to cool off.The following day Medika had turned up from nowhere, flopped down beside him, while he was sitting alone under the same tree, seeking shelter from the burning sun, while as Brett was.... God knows where he was?? trying to read the first chapter of Brett's school book on arranging and composing, to make himself prepared for the next year on music uni.
And there she was, yabbing about NOTHING, showing her long black legs, Eddy's head would start spinning, and then, all of a sudden, she would grab his hand again and make him touch her right there. She tucked HIS hand right in between her own legs and Eddy forgot everything about composing. Fair enough, she kept her dress on this time, he only touched fabric he tried to convince and comfort himself, but truth is, Eddy once again had to throw himself into the lake before being capable of showing himself to people.
That girl made Eddy's world tumble and fall back upside down.Eddy let out a long sigh, trying to get rid of the stress inside. She stressed him out, that's for sure.
Because she changed everything. Everything was....what?
