THIS IS THE LAST POEM IN THE ED SECTIONTw
Eating disordersIn the last desk row
A girl sits alone
She wears a hoodie every day
It's black and baggy
How convenient
Baggy enough to hide her body in
How convenient
No one questions her choice of warm loose clothes
It's winter
It's harder to keep warm
The purging and the starving
Is wearing her out
In gym class
She jogs
Looking fine
But if you saw the blue and blurriness in her vision
If you felt how she stumbles and tries her best not to collapse
Maybe then you would question her outfits or
Her constant shivering or
Maybe you would would even stop commenting on and comparing her weight to the prettiest girl in school
Luckily
She's better now
But imagine if she wasn't
It could have ended badly
And
It could have been worse
