{Chapter 13} - Backfire: Plans revealed.

" What's going to happen now?" Zero spoke.

" I-I don't know, Zero." Yuki replied, her knees were pulled up to her chest as she cried tears into her folded arms placed on top of them.

" I guess Kuran's going to come after me."

" I won't let him hurt you." a distant voice came from behind them.

" Uhh, Subaru, what?..." Yuki questioned.

" It's not for your sake, it's for Yuki's, I know that if you get hurt so will Yuki and I promised Ayato that it wouldn't happen." He approached the centre of the room, stopping between Yuki and Zero.

" Wait... where is... WHERE IS AYATO?" Yuki panicked, shoting up from her chair. She had a feeling that something was wrong.

" He's...Uh... It doesn't matter." Subaru turned to leave but stopped with a gasp to find someone looking at him with a grin.

"... To kill him!" spoke Sayo's voice in the distance.

Ayato was stood in shock, he almost couldn't move. He thought about warning Kaname but when he moved a tile slipped from the rooftop. 'Crap' he thought.

" Who's there?... Show yourself." Demanded Levi, searching for any sign of movement and he eventually got what he wanted. " It's you... Ayato."

" What did you hear?" Sayo questioned, Ayato just gave a smile and walked over too them.

" I heard everything, from the name of Kaname Kuran to the part where he is going to die." He stood with his hands proped up onto his hips. A devilish grin on his face.

" You did, did you? Then I guess we have no choice but to kill you since we can't have you ruining our plans." Levi spoke and gave an intimidating look, while Ayato bursted out with laughter.

" Who said I was going to tell anyone? After all I planned to get rid of Kaname myself so I could have Yuki." Ayato started to walk circles around them.

" Stop this game, We both know that if you kill Kaname it would hurt Yuki." Sayo exclaimed.

" Exactly, which is why I am not going to tell her. He is." Ayato pointed behind them, they both turned their heads to find no one there.

Ayato took this as an opportunity to run and he did, Levi ran after him. Jumping off the rooftop as he did.

" Kaname!" Yuki breathed loudly. Everyone stood in their exact spaces only to find Zero was an easy target, Subaru moved as Kaname raised the gun he had in his hands.

" Back away from him, Subaru!" Kaname demanded devilishly, taking slow steps towards both of them. The gun still pointing directly in front of him. " Kaname!... Don't do it!"

Kaname didn't listen to, no, he didn't hear Yuki. He continued to move forward with the gun, his fingers gently pressing the trigger.

*Gunshot*

" Kaname!" He snapped out of what would seem like a day dream. He looked around the room Zero, Subaru and Yuki were stood before him safe and not an injury to their body.

" Where did that gunshot come from?" Zero spoke hastily.

Subaru took a bold gasp and everyone looked at him " Ayato..."

Yuki's eyes widened with worry " Where...where is he?"

" I'm ... here...Yuki" Everyone turned to look at the person stood in the door way, his shirt covered with blood as the palm of his hand put pressure onto his newly made wound.

" AYATO!" She ran to him wrapping her arms around him in order to help him safely into Zero's bed.

*Flash back*

Ayato ran, he breathed rapidly as he picked up the pace only to be stopped by a dark figure crashing into the ground. It mixed in with the sound of thunder from the continuing storm.

Everything around them shook, almost like an earthquake.

"You know cowards don't run away." He smirked to Ayato as he turned, his eyes glowing a deep colour of red. Almost the shade of blood. As his cape with ' The wings of freedom' moved with the flow of the wind as he turned.

" Who says I'm running away." Ayato folded his arms, smiling devilishly. His voice was shaky and Levi detected that.

"Why else would you run...?" Levi pulls out a gun and points it to Ayato's head. Ayato moved back slightly, Levi couldn't help but smirk some more.

"Well, well what is this?" Ayato decided to smile, he leaned forward to take a closer look. But really he was terrified, he knew what type of gun this was.

"This won't be as easy for you as it will be for me... I am going to kill you there's nothing you can do to change that."

" Then perhaps I should run." *crash of thunder*

" perhaps you should."

" I would, but I'd rather kill you!" Ayato runs at him, his nails lengthened ready to pierce through Levi's skin.

*Gunshot*

Ayato stopped as pain struck his ribs, he looked down to see his shirt starting to dye the colour red. Levi walked past him with the same plastered smirk to only then jump back on to the the roof top.

*Flash back ended*

Subaru approached both of them with warm water to clear the wound.

" It's in too deep..." He gasps again "... what happened?" He looks up towards Ayato who doesn't reply to his question

" Theres something I ..." He winces in pain "... Have to tell...K-kaname."

" What is it, Ayato?" Kaname spoke calmly.

" It wasn't Ze.." Ayato winces in pain again.

"Ayato don't strain yourself, you need to rest." Subaru continues to clean his wounds as Yuki sits next to Ayato carefully. Kaname couldn't help but be jealous.

" Ayato?..." He looks up at her, bring his hand to her cheek as if to see he was okay. Yuki smiled lightly at him, she brings her head down and kisses him softly.

Kaname had too look away, he could feel his stomach burn with anger.

Yuki whispers something in Ayato's ear, it was a quite whisper so no one could hear any words escape from her mouth. She walks towards the door where Kaname and Zero are stood before she says Goodbye and then leaves.

Walking behind them in silence down the hall felt like forever to her, she knew that Kaname saw them and she knew it would have hurt him. But she couldn't ignore Ayato's feelings and acknowledge Kanames. As far as Yuki knows both her and Kaname are just friends, nothing too complex.

" Did you get rid of him?" Sayo turned with a serious look, rain dripped down her face as she looked up before looking at him.

" He's injured, but he managed to reach Kaname." Levi replied, giving a regretful face.

She gave him an angered look before raising her hand but was stopped before she could hit him " I don't think it's right to attack someone for not carefully carrying out your job, Sayo?"

She turned to find Kaname was behind her, Zero and Yuki stayed behind him. She smirked at this.

" In my opinion, if you want the job done you have to do it yourself." He gave a angered glare to her.
