"There's more to this 'shithole' of a town than you think."
Colona, Illinois. The town where 6th grade girls have hickeys and you're next door neighbor is most likely a child predator. In the eyes of others; the town of Colona, much like it's citizens, are trash. But when you move to the town accused to be full of pot heads and trailer trash (as defined by Urban Dictionary users), you'll see there's much more to the small town than what outsiders believe.
When Virginia Sols' mother loses her job and her stepfather is relocated to Illinois; the young, Colorado raised girl must live in the small town of Colona. Before she moves, Virginia reads a review posted in the Urban Dictionary, describing Colona as: A small shitty town full of trailer trash and pot heads. Known to the younger crowd as "C-Town". You're next door neighbor is most likely a child predator and you probably spend most weekends getting drunk or high in your friends basement. There is absolutely nothing in this shithole of a town! If you currently live here. Leave... Now!
When Virginia shows this to her mother, it's too late. The moving van is already outside; ready to take their belongings to the small town. Soon, the people and the town grows on Virginia; and after four years if living there, the 8th grader decides that Colona isn't so bad after all.
And she thinks the rest of the world should know too.
