Sanemi closed his journal, its pages filled with the meticulous records of his training and the sun breathing techniques he had been diligently practicing. The silence of his dorm room surrounded him, offering a respite from the outside world, if only for a moment. But the tranquility was short-lived as a sudden commotion erupted outside.

Curiosity piqued, Sanemi rose from his seat and made his way towards the source of the commotion. As he stepped outside, he found himself face to face with the Sound Hashira, his loud and boisterous nature on full display. He couldn't help but overhear the heated exchange between the Sound Hashira and Annie, the enigmatic girl who had caught Sanemi's attention before.

"Why won't you go on a mission with me, Annie?" The Sound Hashira's voice was filled with frustration, his tone revealing his disappointment.

Annie, her expression cool and detached as always, responded with a calm but resolute voice. "I have my own reasons, and they do not align with yours. It's nothing personal."

Sanemi, sensing the tension in the air, decided to intervene. He approached the pair with a determined yet calm demeanor. "Is everything alright here?"

The Sound Hashira turned his attention towards Sanemi, a mix of frustration and resignation etched upon his face. "Sanemi, you wouldn't happen to know why Annie here refuses to go on a mission with me, would you?"

Sanemi glanced at Annie, her gaze meeting his briefly before she looked away. He could sense the guarded nature within her, the walls she had erected around herself. Despite the cold exterior she portrayed, Sanemi sensed something deeper within her, a pain or burden that she carried.

"I don't know the specifics, but everyone has their own reasons and choices," Sanemi replied, his voice steady and calm. "Perhaps it would be best to respect Annie's decision."

The Sound Hashira huffed in frustration, clearly dissatisfied with the response. "Fine, I suppose I can't force her. But she's missing out on some great missions."

Annie remained silent, her gaze fixed on the ground, a hint of sadness flickering across her features.

Sanemi stepped closer to her, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and understanding. "Annie, if you ever need someone to talk to or if there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to reach out."

Annie's eyes briefly met Sanemi's, a glimmer of gratitude shining within them before she turned away once more. "Thank you, Sanemi."

With that, the Sound Hashira begrudgingly retreated, his frustration still evident in his posture. Sanemi watched him go before turning his attention back to Annie.
