Chapter 9

Two days went by quickly with the mansion very dull and quiet but everyone went about their usual activities. When Josephina had informed the family about Rakia's misfortune and the passing of his brother, Wyll responded that accidents do happen and Maxith was not the first.

One evening, Josephina came back from work and called Elora's husband. She presented to him the divorce documents to be signed. When Ethan gave the documents to Elora, she refused them, and let him know that she was never going to give him that divorce. Ethan informed Josephina who later confronted Elora, threatening to press charges against her for murder, just as alleged by Harletta. Elora then signed the papers, as well as agreed that Ethan takes full custody of the children. Josephina did that because she certainly knew Elora was going to end up in prison. Ethan, grateful to Josephina, left that evening with his kids.

Elora began losing her mind, haven had it with Josephina. She decided to murder Josephina silently, needing the help of his brother, Anthony, but when she sent that proposal, Anthony turned totally against it at the initial stages. However, Elora managed to convince him. It was Elora's suggestion that they tamper with Josephina's vehicle to cause another accident. "Investigations into the accident would only lead to a fault with the vehicle and nothing else", she added. Lo and behold, Josephina heard about the plan. Thankfully for her, she had been spying on Elora ever since Maxith's demise. Haven heard about the conversation, she turned bit sad but anxious, since she never thought, not even for once, that a time will come when her own husband would agree to a plot against her.

Without wasting much time, Anthony and Elora decided to act after Mathéo's funeral. The funeral of Mathéo was a huge one with the presence of various dignitaries. During the funeral, Rakia decided to show up and pay a tribute to her late husband. Wyll did not refuse since it was expected that Rakia pays tribute to his husband. Rakia came with a whole different plan. Time of her tribute came; she had prepared a footage of her happy memories with her late husband but when she began to speak, she gave a shocking tribute as to how free and amazing she feels from that time of the death of her husband. Thereafter, the footage of her husband beating her began to show. People gasped in surprise and disgust. Indeed, she wasn't there to pay any supposed tribute but rather tell the world how horrible her husband was while he lived. Not only was he cruel to her, he was also absent in her children's lives. Rakia then burst out crying, appealing to everyone, particularly the media, to help investigate the death of his only family and brother Maxith. She gave out the number plate of the vehicle and pleaded that the perpetrators brought to book. Just after her speech, she left and so many others followed, after this revelation.

Wyll grew even more furious because Rakia already had involved the media. He then decided to get rid of both the driver and the vehicle that carried out the operation but that, his mistake. The rest of the people that remained were friends, and close relatives. When the funeral finally ended, Wyll made a few calls instructing the execution and demolition of the driver and vehicle, respectively. What he knew not, was that Josephina was a step ahead of him. She had tapped into Wyll's phone with the help of a friend at work. Josephina's friend traced the call and had Wyll's contact traces followed. She also called the police who arrived at the scene on time to arrest the driver and Wyll's hired assassin. Josephina then met the culprits at the police station in the capacity of Rakia's lawyer to listen to, and record the confessions of the culprits, and their confessions, a clear indication of Wyll's involvement in the death of Maxith. However, when she got home, Josephina got a call from the inspector in charge of the case, informing her that, he had been ordered to drop all charges and let the culprits go. Josephina expected nothing less so this didn't come as a surprise. She was just okay with the evidence she'd accrued, doubled the copies, and forwarded part to Glenn and Eliazer.
