Alex awoke from his restless sleep, his mind still clouded with remnants of the unsettling nightmare and the mysterious encounter in the hallway. Shaking off the lingering confusion, he made his way out of his room and down the hallway, his footsteps echoing softly in the silence.

Glancing at his reflection in the hallway mirror, he found solace in the familiar sight of his own features. The reflection was normal this time, offering no distorted images or eerie surprises. It was just him, as he knew himself to be.

As he entered the living room, Asheva still peacefully asleep and Thabo unconscious on the couch, Alex's attention turned to the kitchen. Seeking a moment of calm, he opened the kitchen cabinets in search of something to soothe his unsettled mind. His eyes fell upon a peculiarly labeled package, its name unfamiliar to him. Assuming it to be a type of tea, he grabbed it without much thought, hoping for a comforting brew.

He heated the water and prepared the tea, anticipation building within him. However, as Alex tentatively took a sip of the tea, an unpleasant wave of flavors assaulted his taste buds, leaving him with a grimace of distaste. The initial note was bitter and acrid, akin to burnt leaves or stale herbs, causing a shudder to run down his spine. It was accompanied by an overwhelming astringency that clung to his tongue, drying out his mouth and leaving a puckering sensation.

Startled by the unpleasant taste, Alex couldn't help but spit it out into the sink. The noise and commotion roused Asheva from her slumber, her eyes scanning the kitchen in confusion before settling on Alex. Relief washed over her as she recognized his presence, understanding that the disturbance was caused by his unexpected encounter with the distasteful tea.

Asheva's expression softened, concern etched on her face. She approached Alex, her voice laced with a mix of curiosity and reassurance. "Are you alright, Alex? That tea must have been a surprise. Let me make you something better to drink."

Alex nodded, grateful for her understanding. He realized that his journey in this unfamiliar world was filled with unexpected twists and discoveries, and he needed allies like Asheva to navigate the challenges ahead. As he sipped the new beverage Asheva prepared, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of trust and connection with the enigmatic crow girl who had become his unexpected guide and confidante.

Alex couldn't help but inquire about the peculiar tea he had just tasted. He turned to Asheva, his curiosity evident in his expression, and asked, "What kind of tea was that? It had such an unusual flavor."

Asheva smiled, her eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief. "Ah, that tea is made from a very rare fruit called the Celestial Blossom. It's said to bloom only once every 2000 years in a hidden realm. Its taste is indeed quite awful, especially for those who try it for the first time. But if you give it a chance and try it a few more times, you'll discover its unique charm."

Alex listened intently, fascinated by the rarity and mystical nature of the tea's origin. He couldn't help but be drawn into the enchanting world Asheva described, even if the taste hadn't quite lived up to his expectations.

Asheva settled herself down, taking a sip from her own cup of tea. Alex joined her, sitting on the other side of the kitchen table. Thoughts of his unsettling nightmare and the changes he had noticed in himself weighed on his mind. Should he confide in Asheva about what had transpired? Before he could gather his thoughts, Asheva's voice interrupted his internal deliberation.

"Are you feeling alright, Alex?" Asheva's concern was evident as she observed him closely. "You look a bit pale, and I couldn't help but notice something unusual about your eyes. They seemed to have changed color."

Confusion washed over Alex as he processed her words. His eyes were usually a vibrant green, so what could she be referring to? He momentarily dismissed it as a figment of his imagination, but Asheva's genuine worry urged him to investigate further.
