Ch4. Recovery

I woke up with my head resting on a pillow instead of Arachne's lap. I was going to look for her but I didn't have the energy to. I wrapped the blankets tighter around me before heading back to sleep. I awoke later with a tray of food on the coffee table next to the couch. It had a note that read
"I'll be back! I'm going to go grab some medicine. Enjoy the food and eat slowly! -#40"
I didn't know why she signed her name as #40 but I didn't really care all that much. I decided to text the group chat to see what was going on.

Chroma Kitsu: Anyone awake?

Nurse A: It's 3pm of course we're awake!

Chroma Kitsu: Why is your name Nurse A?

Flame Master6969: Cause she insists that she's now team mom/nurse.

Nurse A: You know that's true!

Chroma Kitsu: How's everyone else doing?

Nurse A: Almost everyone is doing better except Mochi. His fever refuses to break.

Captain Shark: Master! Are you doing ok?

Chroma Kitsu: I'm doing fine, Nerupy.

Flame Master6969: Your shark is getting hit on by Mochi. How do you respond?

Chroma Kitsu: They'd make a cute couple...

Captain Shark: Noooooo >////< don't encourage them!

Chroma Kitsu: Oh noes! I'm so sleepy. I have to get off... byee!

I quickly set my status to offline. I decided to eat the food Arachne made. The first few bites were ok but my tummy didn't agree with more than 6 bites. I had to use all of my willpower to not puke back up what I ate. I pushed the food off to the side and laid down on my side. I felt super queasy so I couldn't fall asleep. I was about to try to find another way to fall asleep when I felt vomit rising in my throat. After an admittedly cute hiccup I felt vomit fill my cheeks. I practically teleported to the bathroom. My long hair narrowly avoided getting splashed by vomit and toilet water. Forgetting that Arachne wasn't behind me I leaned back and hit my head on the floor. I groaned and shakily got back up. I leaned against the wall and decided to text Arachne.

Chroma Kitsu: Can you bring something to help with queasiness?

Arachne<3: I'm using all this money on you so you best give me a good fight when you're better!

Arachne<3: I meant sure cutie~ Jk!

I slammed my phone against the wall when I saw her call me cutie. I quickly picked up my phone when I realized I could have broken it. "Oh no.." I muttered as I saw a crack across the screen. I picked up the phone and angrily stomped back to my spot on the couch. My stomach was attempting to be an acrobat as a response to me rushing back to the couch. I expected to need to puke again but my stomach merely taunted me with that thought. I could hear Arachne busting through the door to the house.
"I've...COME TO FIX THE CUTIE'S UPSET TUMMY!" She shouted.
I could feel every bone in my body reorganize themselves in response to her shout. I covered my ears and whispered softly.
"S-sorry Kit," I heard her say as she walked up the stairs.
I would have responded with some quick jab at her character but her scream still had me unreasonably frightened. I shivered from fright as she approached.
"I didn't mean to scare ya Kit," she said softly.
"Doesn't make you any less of a jerk," I mumbled.

A few hours later I was finally starting to feel a bit better. Arachne said it was because my fever broke. I didn't really feel all that feverish except for the first day I was feeling sick. I was able to hold down food properly for the first time in two days. I was snacking on a bag of chips while Arachne was looking for a show to watch. I leaned against her shoulder since I wasn't feeling well enough to trust myself sitting up right for a decent amount of time.
"My guess is that it was just a major case of Fae Flu," Arachne said.
Arachne kinda blurted that out for no reason but I didn't really mind that much. I was just glad to finally be able to eat chips without my tummy staging a revolt. I felt super weirded out by my random use of tummy instead of stomach in my thoughts. In fact my thoughts all felt rather cutesy. I decided to wave it off.

"Hey Owari, why do you always sound super cute and adorable and huggable?" Kate asked me.
"I dunno habit I guess," I responded
Kate wrapped her hands around me and nibbled on my ear causing me to blush heavily.
"Doesn't make you any less fun to tease," She grinned.

I had another random memory. I hadn't had one in a few days so I thought they were gone but they weren't done yet. Arachne wrapped 2 of her arms around me and brought me closer.
"Sleep well Kit," she said.
I quickly fell asleep since the movie was rather boring.

When I woke up I felt perfectly fine. Since I was doing better I decided to give Arachne the fight she was looking for.
"Oi get up," I said.
"What?" Arachne said drowsily.
"I'm gonna fight you today. Meet me outside the school," I responded
I got up and ran to my room to put on clothes suitable for battle. I put on a comfy black and purple sweater and a pair of black shorts. I jumped out of my window and sped out to the school. Now that I was better I could take full advantage of my ultra high stats. Arachne beat me there and was waiting when I arrived.
"Why outside the school? Schools closed because of the long weekend so why are we here?" Arachne asked.
"Cause why not," I responde.
Arachne and I counted down to 0 before beginning our match. Her first punch was aimed at my head so I dodge causing her to hit the pillar behind me. The pillar shattered like glass. I quickly retaliated with a kick to the side that sent Arachne flying into the school building. She got up and launched a volley of vines my way. I jumped onto one of the thicker vines and used it as a spring to launch myself towards Arachne. However, she caught my leg with a vine and slammed me through a wall. Before I could get up from the rubble she had already sent out more vines. I stomped my foot and created an icey zone around me. Arachne powered up and turned a collection of vines into some gauntlets. To match her boost I coated my hands in Red's energy. We both lunged at each other. We were perfectly matched with her extra arms making up for her lesser stats. The shockwave from our attacks was morphing the area around us. As plants and ice started to spread around the area Arachne jumped back before summoning a spider and a vine golem. I wasn't as used to using dungeons as she was so I couldn't summon something without being ready for it. I really thought I was gonna lose.

I turned to the god of time and chuckled.
"Have you heard of the Galacta Buster spell?" I questioned
"Yes? In that case I want you to meet its upgraded cousin the Uni Buster!" I exclaimed as I shot a large blast from the Uni Buster. I floated through the gap left behind by a destroyed universe for a moment before another universe filled its place. I really did love destroying stuff!

I didn't get why that memory appeared now but I was glad for it because it gave me a new spell to use. I readied the Galacta Buster as the spider and golem charged. Red and white magic began to coat my hand and form into a cannon. I activated the spell and released the built up magic. The attack destroyed the summons and was about to hit Arachne when she grabbed an amulet.
"Special skill: True counter!" She exclaimed.
The blast was sent back at me causing me and the school to collapse. Her counter wasn't strong enough to block all of it so I still got a hit in. As we both laid in the rubble we said.
"Tie.."
