The sky seemed to blend with the ocean as the four brothers sat on the white sand beach. It wasn't very long into the day that the June breeze began to pick up, causing waves in the dazzling blue water. There were hardly any clouds in the sky and the sun shone brightly as ever. In their heads, it was the absolute most perfect day to go to the beach.
Apparently, everyone else in the city thought the same.
It was a lot more crowded than they had expected, and they felt cramped on the old, ratty towel they sat on. Not only was it crowded with children coming a bit too close to them, but the music was awfully loud. At least ten different tunes played around them, making it impossible to pick out even one. Yet, they tried to make the most of their day.
It was around three PM when the brothers decided they had enough, picking up their stuff to leave. The crowd never died down, in fact, more people kept coming to spend their afternoon at the beach.
"I bet Seonghwa is ready to go," Yunho said with a smile, trying to remove the sand that stuck to his shoes. They were no longer on the sand, but they were happy to be away from the crazy crowd. Wooyoung let out an embarrassed chuckle, having been the one to suggest going to the beach in the first place.
I was ready to leave over an hour ago, San heard. He quietly laughed to himself at Seonghwa's inner comment, looking to see that Seonghwa had a much faster pace than the rest of them. He was clearly wanting to go home.
The rest of the walk to the apartment in which they lived was quiet, except for San listening in to Seonghwa's inner monologue. He thought about how he never should've listened to Wooyoung's suggestion of going to the beach. San just quietly walked on, the temperature finally beginning to drop. They were all happy to reach the apartment, being able to relax at last. San was especially happy since he no longer had to hear the thoughts of every beach goer he saw. Finally, peace and quiet.
For many months, San wondered if he should talk to someone about his ability to read and enter other people's thoughts. He wasn't sure how he obtained them, but he was determined to figure it out this Summer. Little did he know what he was soon to unleash in the process.
