"Sonic!" Tom called out as he approached Sonic and Lily. Lily looked up at him. Tom looked down at her, then at Sonic. "Who is this, Sonic?" he asked Sonic. Sonic smiled. "Tom, this is my little sister, Ryan!" the blue hedgehog said enthusiastically, smiling even wider. "Lily," Lily corrected. "Right, sorry. Lily. And this is Tom! I kinda think of him as a father figure!" Sonic said. "A father figure?" Lily repeated. Sonic nodded as Tom smiled at Lily. "Nice to meet you, Lily," said Tom, sticking his hand out for her to shake. Lily just stared at his hand. Sonic sighed. "She doesn't really do handshakes," he said. "Oh," Tom said, lowering his hand. There was an awkward silence for about 10 seconds, then there was the sound of a dog barking.
A Golden Retriever jumped at Sonic and knocked him off his feet, pinning him to the ground and licking his face. Sonic laughed. "Ozzie! Stop! Hi!" he laughed, trying to get Ozzie off. Tom chuckled as Lily just watched. "Is that....a dog?" she asked. Tom nodded. "Golden Retriever. His name's Ozzie," he replied. Lily looked back at a chuckling Sonic, who was now sitting up and petting Ozzie, who was trying to lick Sonic's cheek again. She looked back up at Tom. "Can I pet him?" she asked in a soft voice. Tom nodded. "Go ahead." Lily walked over to Sonic and gently patted Ozzie's head. Ozzie turned to her and licked her hand. She yelped a little.
Sonic laughed. "It's alright, he doesn't bite!......Sometimes-" he joked. "Sonic, don't scare her!" Tom scolded with a smile. Sonic laughed again, and this time, Lily joined in, letting Ozzie sniff her hand. "He's so cute!" she said, her voice filled with awe. "Isn't he?!" Sonic agreed with intense hype in his voice. He was so hyper. Lily giggled. "Your hype hasn't changed a bit in the course of all those years, huh?" she teased, her hands on her hips. The two hedgehogs started play-fighting, yelling fake threats at each other playfully and laughing. Tom was watching the entire thing and enjoying it all.
"Well, come on, you two, we should probably get home. Maddie's probably got some fresh chili dogs waiting for us!" he said, immediately getting Sonic's attention. "CHILI DOGS!!!!!!" the blue male hedgehog shouted, bouncing up. Lily was confused. "Who's Maddie? What're chili dogs?" she asked. Sonic only gave her the answer to her second question. "ONLY THE BEST THING TO EVER EXIST!!!" he cried out with major hype. Blue lightning started to form on his body. Tom was the first to notice. "Uhhh, Sonic!?" he said, a worried tone in his voice. Lily turned her attention to her brother and gasped.
Sonic looked at himself. "Oh, no, not again!"
