 previously on 'jealousy'...

"I'm going to tell her if you don't tell her yourself," he continued, turning more serious. "I've never seen you scared to hit on a girl before, Steve. Come on, shoot your shot, man!"

I bit my lip, looking around nervously. "Soda, she's one of us! I can't date her! She probably sees me as her big brother! I'll get over it, alright?" I said, sadly watching her and Two-Bit laugh.

"Then I'm going to tell her," Soda said, standing up.

"Wait!" I whispered. "Wait! I'll do it!"

"Wait! Wait! I'll do it!"

Soda smiled whole-heartedly knowing that he had won. Sighing, I cautiously approached y/n, my heart pounding inside my chest. "Hey, y/n..."

"Yeah?" she asked, looking up from her cards.

I nervously fidgeted with my hair and looked at Soda, who was standing amused in the corner. What a little asshole. "Uh... can we talk? I mean... can you meet me later at Buck's? At seven?"

"Uh, yeah, sure," she replied, returning to her cards.

I turned beet red and turned back to Soda, dragging him outside.

"What was that, man?" he asked, laughing.

"I- I chickened out, okay? I need to think about this first!"

"Okay, but if it doesn't happen at Buck's, I'm telling her myself," Soda said.

"I hate you," I sighed.

"You love me," he replied, smiling.

"Alright, I think that's enough for today," you laughed, putting down my cards and snatching the ten dollar bill.

"Awe, come on. Not cool! You just want to end on a win," Two-Bit whined, cleaning up the cards.

"Yes, and I've got some things to do."

"Like what?" he asked, putting the cards in the box. "Go out with Steve?"

"I am-" you took a breath to calm myself and calmly stated. "I am not going out with Steve, okay? He just wants to talk."

"You mean, hook up?"

"Shut your trap, Keith!" you snapped. Two-Bit was the only one that knew that you had been crushing on Steve since the ripe old age of fourteen. You had practically grown up together and one day, I guess you caught feelings.

"Alright, alright, have fun," Two-Bit said, as you walked out the door. "Oh, and use protection!"

"We are not hooking up!" you shouted, flipping him off as you left.

As you entered Buck's in a nicer pair of jeans and your new leather jacket, you couldn't help but feel anxious. What happened? Did his dog die or something? Wait, Steve doesn't have a dog. So what did he want? Did his mom die or something?

"Can I get a rum and coke?" you asked the bartender.

"Y/N," Steve said, surprised, turning around on the seat next to you.

"Steve? Sorry! I didn't recognize you!" you said apologetically. He was actually wearing a jean jacket with sleeves and he didn't have any grease in his hair.

"I wouldn't have recognized you either, but then again, you're the only person I know that would order a rum and coke when there is a perfectly good shelf of beer. Also, I would recognize your voice anywhere," he said, smiling.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" you asked nervously.

"Yeah, uh," Steve started playing with his hair. "Are you and Two-Bit dating or something?"

"What? No, he's practically my brother. That's so weird," you said as the bartender slid you your drink. "Why do you ask?"

"I- uh," Steve said, glancing around. "I- I need to use the restroom."

Steve quickly hopped up, but someone pushed him back.

"Steve, why did you actually bring me here?" you asked, confused. "You always seem to blow me off when I try to talk to you now anyways"

"Why are you always so nosy?" Steve snapped.

"Why do you keep acting like a little bitch?" you almost shouted.

"I'm sorry, alright? I just can't face you."

"Why?"

"Because I like you!" he yelled, throwing his arms up in the air. "I've liked you for two years and I didn't know how to tell you!" He immediately turned crimson red and hung his head. Your heart almost hammered straight out of your chest.

"Well, I've liked you for longer."

"What?"

Without thinking, you grabbed him by the collar and kissed him. He was surprised initially, but soon wrapped his hands around your waist and kissed you back.

"Yes!" someone squeaked. You both turned around to see Soda and Two-Bit cheering and high-fiving.

"Ignore them," Steve said, smiling. "I got what I want."

With that, he kissed you.
