The next morning, once everyone had gotten ready, the group set out for the location on the ad. They were following a small dirt path that was absolutely riddled with roots and June Bug tripped at least five times before she was eventually scooped up by Rhonda so she could ride on her shoulders. After that the walk was fairly easy but Anne noticed something weird.
Archer was up towards the front leading then rather then in the back with Norvik, who was talking to his enchanted quill. Usually those two were almost inseparable and even if she couldn't understand why, since Norvik was slightly annoying and Archer didn't talk much, she was used to seeing the pair together.
She glanced at the elf, who was keeping his gaze forward, before clearing her throat. He gave her an unimpressed look and she smiled innocently. "I couldn't help but notice that our dear scholar is alone right now. What happened? Did you two have an argument or?"
The cloaked man was about as talkative as always and just went back to watching his step. She sighed and hung back to talk to Smith next. "Do you notice anything strange going on between those two?" She said while gesturing to elf and human pair. The taller man just shrugged "No not really, did you?"
Anne looked at him for a long time "You're not very observant, are you?" He waved her off and went back to looking at his nails.
It was nearly sunset by the time they made it to the small town of Wolvesrunn, breaking the tree line and ending up on a backroad that took them to the town square. The first thing that they noticed, even Smith, was the sheer amount of wolf decorations. There were statues, vendors were selling wooden wolf figurines, children ran by with little wolf toys, even the fountain situated in the middle of the square depicted three wolves playing in water.
"Is it just me or are people really obsessed with wolves in this town?" Anne asked as she looked around for the place listed on the ad.
"It is called Wolvesrunn." Norvik pointed out.
She just glared at him before going back to squinting at the ad again. "Do you guys see a sign that says Wolfpaw Inn and Tavern?"
The group all collectively looked at the various signs for the various businesses set up in a semi-circle around them. None of them saw a sign for the business they needed so, they broke off into pairs and marched off in different directions.
