Miraculous Ladybug: Count Your Losses

Info: Hawkmoth ends up over powering the two heros and ends up accomplishing his goal, but at what coast. Gabriel finally realized how important the things that he has now are.

POV: Second

Out of breath and panting the two heroes slid back on the broken concrete from the blow they just received. Hawkmoth was more powerful than ever, after taking all the miraculous's, defeating all their comrades, leaving them for last. Ladybug had the most injuries compared to Chat Noir, barely able to stand. Stumbling forward in a powerful stance, Ladybug ran towards Hawkmoth using her yoyo to propel herself up words, to try and land a blow on the opponent, key word tried.

Ladybug had been knocked down hard in the air losing her grip on her yoyo, she began to fall. Chat Noir ran to catch her, but was restrained by Hawkmoths akumatized minions. As Ladybug hit the floor a loud crack sound rang out, making everyone stop.

Chat Noirs eyes widened, he wiggled out of Hawkmoths minions grip and rushed to Ladybug. Kneeling down at her side he saw the blood pooling from her head, her breathing slow almost unnoticeable. Looking up Chat Noir yelled at Hawkmoth demanding him to come down and face him head on. Hawkmoth chuckled accepting the challenge.

Chat Noir screamed as his back hit the side of a car handle digging into his skin tight suit, he was battered and bloody. Their fight had gone for so long, giving enough time for Ladybug to bleed out. He was tired his eyes were droopy, he couldn't land one hit on Hawkmoth, he was just too strong. 

"Give up Chat Noir, you have no one else to help you now!" Chat Noir huffed as he stood up swaying side to side.

"N-Never!" Chat Noir began to charge towards Hawkmoth once again, but was struck down in an instant. Tumbling and skidding on the broken concrete floor, Chat Noir closed his eyes as he coughed up some blood wheezing. His head rang and he felt weak and dizzy, hearing muffled footsteps stop in front of him, he opened his eyes.

His eyesight was blurry with tears from the pain, everything was throbbing, he felt his blood pumping. Every ache in his body felt like a stab, he could hear his ragged breathing as he lifted his head to slightly look at his foe. Hawkmoth was looking down at Chat Noir, his face smirk turned into a frown as he crouched down to whisper in Chat Noirs ear. "I'm sorry to do this......but this is the only way." Hawkmoth restrianed Chat Noir as he lifted his hand to be placed over Chat Noirs mouth and nose to restrict his breathing.

Chat Noir struggled in his tight grip turning his head every which way. Hawkmoth grunted as he held the boy down, strangling him to death. Then it was still, no movement was felt from Chat Noir as Hawkmoth rose. As Hawkmoth walked away he told his minions to give him the miraculous's of Chat Noir and Ladybug. But his curiosity got the best of him as he turned around, eyes widening in horror as he saw his own son dead before him. Dropping the miraculous's in his hand he ran towards Adrien.

Kneeling down on his knees, his hand shook, as tears started to form, bringing a shakey hand up to cup Adrien's beaten and battered face, he slowly wiped some of the blood off of his cheek. Hawkmoth de-transformed as his newly formed tears escaped his watery eyes. He was silently crying, wondering where he went wrong. He thought that he had confirmed Adrien wasn't Chat Noir. He felt a hole opening up, even more as he weeped.

Gabriel's voice croaked, "W-What have I-I done? To my beautiful boy..." Tightly closing his eyes, everything began to fade to white, as Gabriel was left to drown in his sorrow.

Gabriel jolted awake as he put his hands to his face feeling tears pouring out. He was sweating and panting, sitting up, he placed a hand to his heart as he calmed his breathing. Nathalie came rushing into the room, "Are you alright sir?" Nathalie said as she slowed her pace reaching the end of Gabriels bed.

"Y-Yes.." He cleared his throat as he continued speaking, "Yes, I'm quite alright, Thank you."

"Of course sir."

"Do you mind clearing my schedule I would like to spend the day with my son."

"Why yes of course, I will be taking my leave now if you need nothing else."

"Yes, thank you." Nathalie left with a light smile on her face, hearing that her employer finally wanted to spend time with his son.

Adrien, was surprised to hear that his father wanted to spend time with him, but none the less he was happy. As he was finished getting ready, Adrien walked out of his room and down the stairs to be met with his father standing at the front door. "Are you ready to go? Son." Gabriel asked looking down at Adrien, a smile on his face.

Adrien's eyes shined brightly, as he looked up at his father, "Yes." Adrien said with a bright smile on his face, Gabriel opened the door, the light shining on their happy faces as they walked through the door engulfing them in the bright light, as they ventured off, together.
