It was nearing the end of October and it was the first Quidditch game of the year and Amara was almost jumping up and down. Not only was Marlene on the team, but so were Sirius and James, the latter being the Captain.

Amara was a class Seeker. All of the girls knew it but the team had had the same Seeker since she joined the school in her First Year. Luckily, he was in his Seventh Year so she hoped she could snag a spot next year.

She made her way down to breakfast and ate her food happily, observing the Hufflepuff team who were obviously angry to be playing in the pouring rain.

Just then, the Gryffindor team walked in to the Great Hall, all 7 of them in formation. They decided to eat right next to where Remus, Peter, Mary, Dorcas, Lily and herself were.

Amara gave Marlene a quick side hug, sliding her a plate of toast.

"This is your 3rd year being on the team, Marls. You know you'll do perfect." she said sweetly, moving further down the row so Dorcas could speak to her girlfriend.

Now she was sat in-front of James and Sirius. The former had a look of nonchalance on his face whilst the latter was giddy, feeling the adrenaline pumping through his veins already.

"How are you two feeling?"

"I can't wait." Sirius bursted out, hardly able to touch his food.

"And you?" she asked James, turning to him.

"Fine."

"You've got to give me a little more than that, Captain." she teased, her face resting on her palm as she tried to suss him out.

"We're going to beat them. There's nothing to worry about." he said confidently.

Amara just rolled her eyes, pouring two cups of orange juice and placing one in front of the both of them.

"Drink up then. We can't have 2 out of 3 of our best players out there on an empty stomach."

James took it from her, tilting his head slightly as he maintained eye contact.

"You seem to be awfully interested in the sport for someone who didn't grow up with it." he stated, taking a sip.

"Well, Gryffindor's only missing the best Seeker they could every have. No offence to Yates, of course." she replied, a small smile on her face.

"You play?" Sirius asked, his eyes wide.

"Don't look so surprised, Black. Just because I was huffing and puffing on the stairs doesn't mean I don't play Quidditch."

He stared at her with a blank face.

"That's insulting, actually. I'm leaving now." she huffed, feeling a hand grab her as she was about to get up.

"Stay?" James asked quietly, making her sit back down slowly and stick her middle finger up at Sirius.

"I'm doing it for him, not for you." she told the Beater, seeing him pout. "Are you nervous about being Captain, James?"

"A little. We're gonna win. I know that. I'm just a little scared I might fuck up."

"You? Fuck up?" she laughed. "Come on, Potter. I've been to every single game since I've been at Hogwarts. You do not fuck up. In fact, you show off a tad bit too much, if I'm being honest."

She saw a small smile on his face and pushed his glasses back for him as they were slipping off his face.

"You'd better not fly like you run, Cap. Because that means in the rain, you're an absolute mess." she snorted, hearing him laugh at their inside joke.
