Chapter 2

Maya and Kitty met outside of Kitty's house since her dad had offered to drive them to the airport. Maya gave Mr. Covey a big hug and thanked him for driving them and the two teens set off into the airport. They approached the desk, Kitty in front of Maya.

"Katherine Song Covey. "Kitty" to my friends, and I'm on my way to Seoul, Korea." She grinned from ear to ear at the woman.

"Yes. I see that in the system." The woman replied snarkily.

"Miyeong Reynolds." Maya said as she handed the passport and ticket to the lady.

"Just head straight down and drop any baggage that you aren't taking on the plane on the conveyor belt with this sticker." She handed her a label to wrap around her suitcase.

Maya smiled brightly at Kitty and the two ran off giggling, straight to the baggage drop-off. She scanned the sticker and then peeled it off and wrapped it round the handle, took a picture to send to her parents and then placed it onto the conveyor belt.

"This is so surreal." She sighed as she wrapped her arm around Kitty's. They made their way to the seats by the gate and began the long wait. Mr. Covey had been insistent on getting there two hours early, not a moment later. "Do you want a coffee?" She asked.

"Oh, I'd love one." Kitty replied.

"I'll go get them from Starbucks."

"No, it's okay, I'll pay for mine."

"I'm pretty sure I owe you a coffee anyway, so I'll get this one. On me." She smiled.

"Okay. I'll write an email to L-J and Margot."

"What do you want?"

"Iced latte please!" Kitty strolled off to find two free seats.

Maya made her way to the queue and opened her WhatsApp to her mum. "Made it in plenty of time to the airport, about to get a coffee. I'm so excited!" She attached the photo of her suitcase before putting her phone away and smiling at the cashier as she got to the front of the queue. "Hiya! Could I get two iced lattes please?" She payed and grabbed the two cups when they were finished.

As she approached Kitty, she hadn't noticed the man she was about to walk head first into. At the last minute she managed to not hit him, but the sudden movement caused her to trip over her feet. Just before she hit the floor, a pair of arms wrapped around her. She looked up and made eye contact with possibly the most attracted an she'd ever seen in her life. The man slowly lifted her up until she was standing upright, she looked down and realised she'd somehow managed not to spill a single drop of coffee. Kitty gasped as she saw the whole thing happen.

"I'm so sorry! And th-thank you, you know... f-for catching me." She swallowed deeply after that mess of a sentence.

Kitty looked at the man's bag and her mouth dropped. "Wait, do you go to KISS? We're going to KISS." She smiled. Maya then noticed the keyring and smiled brightly.

The man just sneered before pinching together his thumb and forefinger. "No English-i." The man stated, before heading off in the other direction. Maya stared after him, her lips curled in consideration. 

"Okay. Rude." She heard Kitty state, causing her to look over to her.

"Oh. Yeah. That was very rude." She quickly handed Kitty her coffee before sitting in the empty seat next to her.

Once it was time to board, they made their way to their seats. Maya and Kitty talked for a few hours on the flight before she stuck her earplugs in and caught some shut-eye. When she awoke, they had about an hour left in their flight, she glanced over at Kitty and saw that she was watching Teen Wolf on her phone. Maya tapped her on the shoulder and gestured for an earphone. They both enjoyed the show together until the flight landed and they were in Seoul.
