Chapter 4

"This is Dae. My boyfriend." Maya heard Yuri utter. 

Kitty was beginning to hyperventilate, before she spun on her heel and ran out of the party. "Excuse me. Sorry." She yelled to some people she bumped into, on her way out.

"Oh, god. Kitty!" Maya yelled after her. She placed her drink down on the table next to Q and Minho before running off after her best friend. Pushing the doors open, she saw Kitty talking to a guy. "I'm Alex Finnerty from Melbourne, Australia. I'm a new teacher here this year." He introduced.

"Why are you not Dae?" Kitty complained, her voice straining as she tried to hold back her tears.

"You mean the guy you don't wanna talk to?" The guy confirmed.

"Kitty!" Maya called as she ran over to them. Kitty sobbed as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Oh sweetie," she comforted as Kitty fell into her best friends arms.

 "Are you all right?" Alex, the teacher, asked concerned. "Can I get you anything? Never mind. You guys are American, right?"

"Yes." Kitty hiccupped as she calmed herself down and wiped her eyes.

"I really admire you guys over there. You're very strong and confident, also very loud." The teacher continued on. 

"What?" Kitty asked, confused since she'd zoned out half the conversation.

"I noticed that Americans speak louder than everyone else."

"Yeah, we have a tendency to just say whatever we're thinking." Maya agreed. "No filter, ya know." Alex laughed.

"Forget everything that just happened." Kitty interrupted. "I am going back in there and I am not leaving without answers." She affirmed, pushing past Alex and Maya.

"She's certainly..." Alex paused briefly, "interesting."

"Yeah. I should probably go after her," Alex nodded. "Good luck teaching!" He snorted slightly. Maya smiled at him before heading back into the dance room.

"Not interested." She heard the British guy say as she approached. "Not interested in you either." He raised a brow at Maya.

"Get over yourself." She waved him off.

"I'm looking for Dae." Kitty stated confidently. 

"Okay, who are you?" Q asked them both.

"I'm Miyoung Reynolds." Maya said, holding her hand out for him to shake, which he did.

"I'm Kitty Song Covey." Kitty admitted.

Both of the men looked a little shocked. "You're Kitty?" Q asked.

"Wait, are you Q? Track star, fellow American, heart of gold?" Kitty asked excitedly.

"Guilty as charged. I feel like we should hug right now. Should we?"

"Maybe later. I need to find Dae." Kitty said, admittedly a little sad.

"So you're the pen pal?" The British voice spok again. Maya swore it was getting more grating each time she heard it. 

"If he's Q, then you must be Min hо." He bowed slightly, though his face kind of said 'You're welcome'. "Of course you are." Kitty commented. "Where's Dae?"

Kitty spotted Dae and Yuri somewhere in the crowd and left to go speak to them. Maya, not wanting to interrupt the conversation stayed with Q and Minho.

"Why are you still here?" Minho asked, looking at the woman disgusted.

"Minho, don't be rude," Q chastised. "So what are you guys doing here?" He asked Maya.
